As someone who is very comfortable being alone with his thoughts, I especially enjoyed this one. When I visit my parents, my mom and I can spend hours just reading books in the living room, never saying a word. It drives my dad nuts.

I love how everyone missed the point of this video of why small talk is necessary. So many people want to pretend to hate small talk so they can feel much deeper than they actually are.

In boobably i do concur! I never understood small talk and I refuse to participate in it.
So I guess that is why I alienate random people that want this "small talk" and only have a tight circle of friends that are also revolted by the mundane and insincere!

The problem with sports, and the reason they’re not worth watching? If one team is legitimately better than the other, then it’s not a fair contest. If they’re equally skilled, then who wins that particular game just comes down to a toss-up of pure chance. In that case, the quarter flip that starts a football game should be its conclusion as well.

Praise to smalltalk! I don't think it's insincere at all. Just because it's not a deep philosophical topic, doesn't mean we can't enjoy talking to other people and feel genuine connection from talking and laughing about small things. Big conversations need time and energy and sometimes we just want the benefit of human interaction without the time invest!
