You can just listen to and sense that Jake really put his heart and soul into that debut album. It's really special to me. It's one of my favorite albums of all time. It really stands out among what else was being put out at that time. That album and Lynch Mob's debut album were two of the best.

That's BS you can listen to it on YouTube and you can also add it to your YouTube music app. But there's actually three of them and I have all of them on vinyl CD and on my YouTube music they are all posted up here and have been for several years

There is a saying that the Lord is closest to those who go through really crappy stuff. Maybe He kept you off the road Jake, he clearly wasn't finished with you when you were walking your dogs and got shot. I for one really appreciate you Jake, and I know Ozzy and Sharon were difficult for sure! Jake is a fabulous player, and I listened to Ultimate Sin countless times!

I love the Badlands albums and have all 3 of them on Cd, for many hard rock fans their debut album was the best album of 1989, they had the bad luck of putting out an amazing album at a time when grunge was taking over the musical landscape, I love everything by their lead singer the late great Ray Gillen, he was one of the best voices in rock I have ever heard, I have all of his Sun Red Sun and bootleg performances with Black Sabbath, the expanded issue of The Eternal Idol features Ray singing the songs before he left for Badlands, and guest appearances on some other albums like Phenomena, Rondinelli and more are all worth checking out, his death was a huge loss, you also have to remember that Aids was not as well understood during that time. Jake is a great guitarist I am just glad he is back!

The debut Badlands album is one of my favorite recordings of all time. I bought it on a whim and listened to it every day for 3 months. To me, it had a blues feel to it. Jake really put his heart into it. Not a bad song on the entire album. It's definitely a hidden gem.

I met Jake at the NAMM show, Ray had quit but wasn't dead at the time, I said what happened to ray, he said I've come to the conclusion all singers are "a$$holes"
A few months later he was gone,

That Ahmet from Atlantic was the same man depicted in the movie Ray: The Ray Charles Story. He was in the first half of the movie before Ray went from Atlantic to Capitol records. Just a side note

Jake E. Lee is a sellout. He sold out his fans instead of standing up for them against greedy females and their shyster lawyers.
Now we'll never see any of the Badlands albums get reissued. And Jake completely dropped the ball.

Ray Gillen was a vocal demi-god who ran into a wall of hurt.
I remember hearing him firsrly on Phenomena's 'Stop, before you break my heart'

The Badlands albums are some of the best. Jake's riffs and tone were amazing. Ray's vocals are special. Sad about what happened. Happily own the first 2 disks.

You can find the albums right here on youtube. About 10 years ago I downloaded high quality copies of the first 3 albums from a torrent site. I keep them on my phone and I always come back to then time and time again. Jake is right. Love his Ozzy stuff always, but Badlands in his best work. They should have been huge, man. There was just such a plethora of amazing music in that era that they got lost in the mix. Plus, it went down right at the change over to grunge. If they would have been a few years earlier they could have been huge. That music is the pinnacle of hard rock as far as I am concerned.
