    I'm not sure I am anything. I'm a whirlpool. A complex pattern which gathers and processes sensory information then acts based on that information to keep itself going. Everything we think of as beyond that is not so. It is built on it, supported by it, tributary to it.

    The only goal that matters is transcending biology and becoming a mind which can edit its own value structure. The risk of dissolving increases massively with this power, but so does the promise of small-g godhood.

    You know what's cooler? You wear mindsets like clothes. Certain ways of thinking are like a comfy shirt you put on because you couldn't be bothered, you can choose to take it off and try on new ones and as you frequently do it the mindset will adjust to you and become apart of you. So even if you don't believe certain things eventually your brain adapts to it.

    That metaphor of being a single note in a complex jazz solo completely rewired how I look at my own transition lately. It is so exhausting to treat life like a race to become someone else while your present self feels like a waiting room. I have been wrestling with this a lot in my creative work, trying to find a distinct visual identity when everything feels so fragmented. Seeing this made me realize that I do not need to fix my style or wait for it to be perfect. I spent the evening working on a very experimental video montage for my journal, focusing entirely on the raw and accidental cuts instead of trying to make a masterpiece. Accepting the messiness of right now is terrifying but it is the only way to actually make something true

    I feel like a jester before a king of my own self judgement about to be sent down a trap door for failing to act as I interpret myself to appear before to others.
