This Scene Completely Changed How I Watch Sitcoms (Roseanne)

T1J | May 28, 2026

Like most sitcoms, Roseanne is filled to the brim with jokes. Yet, it still managed to tell deep, realistic, dramatic stories. Let’s talk about that.

Darlene showing up to bail him out is one of the top 3 scenes of the Whole Series.

#2: Darlene explaining Becky farting in front of the whole school
#3: Darlene describing breakfast to hungover Becky

I thought Roseanne was an amazing, real life portrayal of the working poor in America. Using humor was a coping mechanism that made the hardships more palatable. I loved it growing up! Wish she hadn't gone nuts:/

I'm watching this video on Nebula but came here to about to this episode on my occasional rematch of the series….one of the best episodes of the best sitcom of all time. Great analysis!

People should go watch the Chicken Hearts episode – where Roseanneโ€™s younger Boss comes over for dinner so Roseanne can try to get weekends off, even has Dan fix a carburetor for his auto class. At the end, he fires her, and Dan proceeds to take apart the carburetor fully. So awesome

The character on this show was basically my mother. Grew up in the same time and place. I will always regret that the real Roseanne lost her mind later in life.

Roseanne definitely gave Dan to look but it's okay handle it then. Only thing that upsets me is when Roseanne came back out they kicked her off the show.. which was going to be a phenomenal show again

Why did this not show him getting arrested by friendly cops? Roseanne trying to intervene and Dan establishing that what happened was just between him and Fisher and no one else, because Jackie didnโ€™t want anyone to know while she was still a cadet for the police academy. He just stood up and put his hands together. Most badass scene in sitcom tv because it was so on point and stoic!

The episode where DJ is spending A LOT of time in the bathroom ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰
Roseanne tells Darlene to not tease him about it or he will turn into a serial killer. Darlene says โ€œ how much damage could he do with one free handโ€๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ GOLD PURE GOLD!!!!

Great video ! The first 5 season of Roseanne were really wonderful.
Check โ€œthe golden girlsโ€ the episode where Sophiaโ€™s son dies. Drama & comedy mixed in a genius wayโ€ฆ with great acting !!!

I have always hated FRiends, what is the appeal?

I am mid 60s & there is 4 comedy series from my lifetime that I have always loved, admired & never tire of rewatching.
MASH, Roseanne, Scrubs & Veep. Doesn't matter that Roseanne went gaga & is a punchline today. Her show, her writing & her "family" was absolutely perfect.

Actually shows like Roseanne and cheers were filmed in front of a live studio audience they ran multiple cameras simultaneously so that they could cut between them without any interruption in the sound of the laugh from the audience

I remember my Aunt coming to our house one summer day. She hid in our bathroom and was crying. I was about 6 and didn't understand. My Uncle showed up and was banging on our front door. My mom talked him down and he left. She never did leave him. He ended up dying of cancer. The truth came out after his death. If my aunt wanted to leave, my family would of taken care of it. Sometimes real life isn't as clean as a tv show. In some ways that is why I like shows.
