The Trump Mental Health Issue We Don’t See: Wolff | Inside Trump’s Head

The Daily Beast | May 27, 2026

Michael Wolff and Joanna Coles dissect Donald Trump’s declining health as the president heads back to Walter Reed for another physical exam and questions swirl around whether the nearly 80-year-old can physically survive a second term. From Trump’s repeated cognitive tests and mounting exhaustion to behind-the-scenes panic over Iran, Cuba, Marco Rubio, JD Vance, and the future of the MAGA succession fight, the episode spirals through paranoia, power, and the growing sense that the pressure around Trump is finally starting to show. Wolff also reveals extraordinary new details from his legal war with Melania Trump, including how Trump-appointed judges, Boris Epshteyn, and Todd Blanche fit into what he describes as a justice system now reshaped around Trump himself, before Joanna Coles caps things off with the surreal spectacle of Usha Vance’s baffling new children’s web series and the increasingly strange cast orbiting the Trump universe.

It is utterly bizarre to realize that hundreds of millions of people all over the world wish Trump would die as soon as possible. I can't help but think…. Vance. He's really quite… unknown. And depending on the timing it would position him as a shoe-in to win the next election. As in, name the TOP FIVE Democrats! Three? ONE?!? Even half-a-one….

I agree 100% with Michael. I actually predicted this to my sister's after the donalds win. But I said he wouldn't make it halfway through the 2nd year. Honestly I attribute that to the best medical care and access to medical drugs not afforded to the public. Again, just my opinion.

Building wealth from nothing involves consistent saving, disciplined spending, and strategic investments. Begin by creating a budget to track expenses and identify areas for savings. Prioritize paying off high-interest debt and establishing an emergency fund. As you build a foundation, start investing in low-cost options like index funds, and focus on continuous learning and improving your skills for better income opportunities

A slight correction: Michael Foot did NOT wear an "anorak" to the wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Day in November 1981. Nor was it a "donkey jacket" as some of the gutter press described it. It was in fact, a type of duffel coat -as worn by many of those who served in the armed forces being commemorated. On the day itself, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, had described it as a "sensible coat for a day like this". But these are merely the documented facts, rather than the repeatedly rehearsed prejudices, propaganda, and long-established lies of the conventional wisdom.

Re poppies, for me, the amazing display at the Tower of London with those little red flowers cascading from a wall down into the moat which became a sea of red, was most moving.

I would not be at all surprised to see Trump die in days. I also would not be surprised that the celebration would be bigger than anyone would ever believe.

Michael Wolff's first wife was ticked off that Michael got his eventual second wife pregnant while Wolff was still legally married to her, his first wife! It was messy! First wife delayed the divorce for so long that he couldn't marry the second wife until after their first baby was born! His 3 elder children with his first wife were never the same!

I think there's a 50:50 chance that Trump pulls a "Woodrow Wilson", too sick to appear anywhere, no one allowed to see him, and some person acting as his "Edith Wilson". No way would he ever turn over power to Vance.

The US has the buddy poppy and the proceeds benefit the Veterans of Foreign Wars veterans assistance program. They are traditionally worn on the Friday before Memorial Day, officially recognized as National Poppy Day.

I can think of 3 possiblities. 1, trump dies in office after the midterms (best case). 2, He pulls a coup d'etat in 2028 (that will be bad but everyone will see what he is). 3, He tries to invade Cuba and the Russians fight back and in a desparate move trump starts nuclear world war rather than be a 'loser'. I live near a potential ground zero point so i won't have to suffer long.

You guys are making a big deal about Trump’s doctor’s visits. He’s at the geriatric age and he for sure has the usual and he will definitely survive the next 3 years. He is declining in his mental acuity and that’s what is scary!

We welcome you back, Joanna…… 😢🎉 I have faced losing parents, and a husband….. I am glad that you were with your family, and all who have experienced loss, were aware of a variety of experiences that would be part of your experiences …. Hugs from Michigan

Michael, your repeated, rude interrupting of Joanna is just so frustrating to watch. PLEASE LET HER FINISH what she is saying. Joanna you show remarkable forbearance and politeness when you are repeatedly interrupted. I wish I could hear what you were going to say each time.
