I Texted A Loan Shark Back. What I Uncovered Will Shock You.
Loan sharks are targeting small businesses using loans with interest rates up to 2,000%.
This scheme can be a death spiral, killing businesses and driving owners to the edge of suicide.
These loan sharks are experts at dodging regulation — now that needs to change.

So this is yet another unexpected consequence of the 2008 financial crisis. Banks severely cut back on small business lending, which created a gap in the market that these guys swooped in to fill. Just like the payday loan industry filled the gap left by banks cutting back on personal loans.

Regulation for sure, but the public needs to continually be educated and aware. It makes things so much harder when an opposing attorney is sitting across from you asking you point blank "Isn't this your signature? Don't we have a contract?" It breaks my heart that people get taken into these kinds of things and regulation can only go so far.

Within the first 30 seconds of this video I was like "let's see how Trump is involved in this…" Of course he is. It's organized crime for people who are too pussy to get their hands dirty so the best they can do is threaten you over the phone.

It seems like this "industry" can never be regulated. It's built on the explicit goal of scaming and extorting helpless people and businesses.

There are so many predatory "Loans" out there you really have to watch your back. Otherwise the dagger of predatory high interest "loans" will be stuck in you. They utilize psychology and high pressure sales tactics as well as FOMO to lure people in. Is it effective??? Oh yes, very effective. You have to learn how to identify these types of manipulations so you know what to look for. Once you learn about this type of manipulation, it's interesting to see who chooses to use it on you. You will be shocked…

You could always just not take their money. I get at least a few of these offers a week, I block and report it as spam. I don't need a savior in government to keep me safe from these people. Those that would trade freedom for safety deserve neither.

Every investigation that exposes outdated or unjust laws should be accompanied by a proper public platform where citizens can directly express their legal opinions and proposals.
In my country, for example, people can technically submit comments or complaints about laws on official government websites, but in practice those opinions are ignored and rarely, if ever, reach parliament.
Modern petition platforms are also too broad and ineffective. There should instead be a dedicated system where citizens can anonymously verify their identity, submit opinions or proposed changes on specific legal issues, and allow the public to vote on those proposals. If a proposal reaches enough public support, parliament should be legally required to debate or address it.

One of the lowest scums of the earth. Karma is real and it gets all of them at some point. They’ll suffer, bad. What a sick, sad, evil life that’ll take you straight to hell 🔥 👹

Please do a segment on MCA (Mutual Cash Advances) which are effectively operate similarly to loan sharks, some of which are literally tied to criminal organisations/ mobs that will threaten peoples lives and their families when demanding repayments. They are using a loophole in the law where the money being provided is not classified as a “loan” and milk desperate people dry of all their financial assets by charging interest rates up to 1000%.

I've always operated on the simple principle of "If it sounds to good to be true it probably is." I've been fortunate enough to never have been in the situations these people are and I really hope that I don't. But I'm aware enough to know that the future is always uncertain. So I also operate on another principle. "Never deal with a business that calls or shows up at my door. Do your research into who does whatever service you need. YOU call THEM." And the most simple one of all. Never trust a business to do the right thing because they so rarely do.
