Sooo… That Luke Bryan song is just the half assed country boy equivalent of Live Laugh Love, right? Bad stuff, bad stuff, hate it. At least throw in a little fish kissing like that maggat did on super bowl sunday. Thanks for the insight into the goings on in the men's room too. I'll never know these things.

    Also, Sniffiiin'

Dammit, 44:00 I was just going to say that it sounded like Paul was desperately trying to catch a Johnny Cash Hurt vibe, or at least a Zevon Keep Me in Your Heart. But it was just too anemic to have that kind of substance. Maybe he's not dying just yet? It is better than Now and Then, though.

I have a Ramones shirt Judy Is A Punk/Hey Ho Let's Go. Not a bootleg, but not that wheel either. It says Hey Ho Let's Go on a wheel. Not black either, stone wash kashmir red. I'm sure I didn't qualify. I have a Misfits shirt too.

A pal once told me he’d started liking bro country because all the songs sound like “Loser” by Beck

Now every bro country chorus I sing “I’m a loser baby, so why don’t ya kill me” and it works every time

Hey, Pat, any thoughts on Styx? I don't know why, you mentioned something about legacy bands and it's all I can think about. They're my mom's favorite band in the world, even though she's told me a story how she got to meet them backstage and Dennis DeYoung was an asshole to her, she still forgave them? "Because it's Dennis, he's allowed." I don't know. I also know they're still in business because I bought her a new album a few years ago for Christmas, accidentally had a second copy I couldn't return (the independent record store had ordered one for me and I couldn't tell them I found it at Barnes & Noble already), and it was one of the worst things I've ever heard from the band. All these allusions to Alice in Wonderland, the feeling like they're crafting a rock opera when they're really not, and Dennis is long gone – they kicked his ass out in the early 2000s and even made a song about it called "Bourgeois Pig."

Just thinking about Styx a lot lately. Even the non-single, post-career stuff nobody else knows, like "I Will Be Your Witness."

McCartney was… Bad. Sad. His voice is shot (which isn't a criticism, it's what happens when you get old) and the Wings stuff sounded ponderous. Oh well, at least no Ringo.
