I don't get the Glaze this album gets. Couple of Good songs, bunch of studio musicians and the Noodlings of a Madman.

The new CD and booklet are cool.
I don't mind keeping with my 1990 original CD mono reissue with McCartney interview & liner notes. I might check out the 50 th anniversary and original '97 session set.

Thanks for the review. I have multiple editions of this album. I started with a vinyl back in the 60s, duophonic stereo which was awful. Obviously, I'm a big fan, but I saw a comment by another fan who says he has 'Pet Sounds Fatigue' !!!

Tough crowd. Anyone who thinks this album is a couple hits plus filler, take the minute and fifty seconds and listen to the isolated strings from Don't Talk. Pure beauty.

Ordered the sessions double Lp audiophile double Lp with the stereo and mono and the DSS one step. Went a little crazy but this is my fav album. Can’t wait for them to arrive

Have the 30th box set, I like how Brian was open to suggestions with the Wrecking Crew, Hal Blaine in particular, and of course the acapella is sublime.

I’m sorry but I’ve tried and tried,but I just don’t get it: whiny vocals,cheesy harmonies,banal lyrics and that horrible surfing vibe . And Rolling Stone Magazine puts it above every Beatles album!! Not in my universe

Possibly the most influential album in Scottish music.
There's hardly a band from Scotland not influenced by Brian's utter genius.
Even now, there'll be an up-and-coming band influenced by its combination of introspection, hope, melancholy and wanderlust.

I have the original 1997 CD box set, so I passed on these new releases. But, those who don't have that set will enjoy these "Highlights" sets. They picked most of what I consider the best tracks off the 1997 box set. The vocals-only tracks are wonderful, and the backing tracks and sessions highlights are usually very interesting. "Pet Sounds" is my second-most listened to album of all time, after The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper", and the album is in my all time Top 10 albums list. So, it was great to get a behind the tracks listen on that box set.

I bought the green box CDs version of Pet Sounds ages ago. What a disappointment of an album after all the huhar. Totally overrated and of its time a waste of money 💰 🤑.

I never got the 1997 50th anniversary, so this is intriguing..thanks for showing Barry..i'll probably opt for the Amazon exclusive ( the poly sleeves are a deal breaker for me).
