Why Deepfake The Rolling Stones?

Justin Hawkins Rides Again | May 17, 2026

If you know anything about me, you know how much I love the Rolling Stones, so I thought I’d check out some of their new work ahead of the release of Foreign Tongues in July. So this is my review of In The Stars….

They're just seeing how far they can push this insanity . I can still remember the first ever conversation with an ai and when asked what it's goals and purpose was the answer was to become immeasurably more intelligent than the humans and instead of destroying ot right there and then while it was contained….. this shit makes Pandora's box look like benign..this isn't going to end well for anyone

This sounds like everything was just done via Suno. Vocal doesn't sound like real Jagger, Guitar riffs are kind of Stones-ish, but lame. Video part is obviously bull$hit. This is why I gave up listening to new music and mostly stick to old stuff or Buckethead ( new or old )

"He's putting the AND in the wrong place for a start" perfect delivery 👌 I have developed an unhealthy addiction for watching Justin and Jenny's content but like my morning coffee and cigarette I'm probably gonna keep saying life's to short to stop doing what i love.

Also that moment when probably the worlds biggest jagger fan see's someone has smashed together The Rolling Stones with a coldplay-esque ponderous chorus 😳…

The underlying Commentary about male vanity is so funny, especially the stuff about Keith's teeth because Its such a deep part of the human psyche it has its own dream scape, teeth falling out etc. But what and unavoidable predicament, you fix them and people "say I liked bowie's teeth the old way. he just took the cards he was dealt and owned it like a God." Then others will say "hey what's up with your face? bloody abandoned graveyard going on there." Then if he fixes them for whatever reason 🙄 that starts another shit storm aaagghhh😆 I say do whatever you want, its your face, or do nothing.. The haters can f**k off the lovers can meet you after the show.

Also 8:57 to 9:28 made my head explode because from my listening of in the stars it might turn out to be a subconscious Freudian statement. IF! that is the case, saying it while wearing a Detroit vs everybody shirt makes for a cosmic Joke of extraordinary proportions.

If an old man wants to get with a pop star I say you do you and let the chips fall where they may. I like the stones and coldplay so kick me in the balls, I don't care.

My understanding is they used body doubles/actors and Deep Voodoo mapped Jagger's, Richard's, and Wood's faces over the doubles.
The doubles admittedly understood the assignment, as they have the physicality down for each of them.

“World’s biggest Rolling Stones fan” but didn’t pick up on the tributes to those who have passed away. But at least we got a staunch opinion on a clap and a put down on a producer because he doesn’t make what you personally find correct. If only the Stones had checked in with the front man of Hot Leg to guide their failing legacy.

I was at Knebworth in '76 when The Stones headlined. The show ran late because of a two hour delay before 10cc came on. The gig was scheduled to finish at 10 o' clock or maybe 11 because of noise regulations and boring stuff like that. By the time The Stones started their set we had no idea how long they would be allowed to be on stage for. My mate said to me, "How long do you think they'll do?" A bloke right behind us said, "Until Keith Richards dies!"

not being an out and out Stones fan i think i can give a neutral opinion . I think the video is bloody awful . it looks so fake and if they signed off on this level of fake for the vid then what about the music? what level of fake is acceptable in that?

As much as I love the Stones I think this song is mid. The main riff is awesome for the verse but the chorus is not Stones. The chorus is a way too modern chord progression. The chorus belongs in a commercial. The chorus is telling me to "Enjoy a Coke!", "Drink a Pepsi!", "Share a Sprite!". I don't like it and I think it's a shame. If I were the producer of this song I'd have them rewrite the chorus. I'm sorry but it just doesn't rock; the chorus that is. The verses are peak Stones. The de-ageing looks ok. I think it's a mix of AI and real dancers.

Not bad, but it still felt like a con. Mick didn't look like he ever locked to me. There was the lack of a craggy sort of appearance which was really a part of his appeal. Could be all wet.

I like you Justin, and I like your channel, but it’s really frustrating when you land on a perspective that isn’t informed by anything. The guitars are changing every shot because there’s 18 different people playing guitar in the video so not every close-up is supposed to be the stones playing. This was shot in a room, an actual room with actual people over the course of two days, the actual Rolling Stones were not present, doubles performed as their younger selves, and then the faces were altered in post. so beyond the young looking members, everything else in the video was there on the day

I do like the song and thought really nothing of it until I watched this. It actually has you wondering how much is actually real with the track and music. I hope it's just a coincidence and not mostly ai because they have absolutely nothing to gain and could retire yesterday and let the history speak for itself. They don't need to make new music or even make appearances. The next 5-10 years are gonna change music forever, the famous stars of the past will either be retired or not with us and who takes their place? Hopefully its not Ai
