How closely is present-day US mirroring the French Revolution? Here’s a quick comparative primer, because somehow talking about guillotines is more appealing to me right now than talking about today’s headlines.

The only way this could happen in the US is if there were lots of people out of work with lots of spare time for such things as sharpening guillotine blades, but … that couldn't possibly happen because everybody will be just too busy with the jobs. 😀

These so called data centers are deceptive . Crypto coin creation takes an enormous amount of electricity to maintain and trade crypto. This is another one of trumps scam to make the American people to pay Trump to take money out of our pockets to enrich his crypto coin business

LOL history doesn't repeat itself, the Irony. Bush jr said Iraq was about to have a nuke so they had to invade. Fast forward to 2025 it's now Iran that is usppossedly the one close to having a nuke and has been attacked by the US for the umptied time. Why? because the Iranian people ousted the US placed dictator Pahlavi in 1973 and cut the US/UK off from their oil.
The US population is too far in their victim complex and too cowardly to stand up. Maybe a 1 or 2 day protest at best, then back being a victim.

Before watching the video: I'm certainly hoping so, but liberals still seem too soft to me and unprepared for warfare. Of course, I don't think it's really French Revolution II, so much as things are going to play out exactly as Margret Atwood predicted.

I would point out that the idea of too much too fast is much different in the age of the Internet, where major shifts in societial dynamics happen much faster. Especially after the sense of stagnation and the stalling of ideas that 80% of people want that neoliberalism has facilitated for decades. Though to be fair womens liberation and the red pill movement show it is still possible. Also the abortion backlash was manufactured as a wedge issue by a political party to capture religious individuals as single issuer voters rather than a natural backlash, and as referendums have shown is not actually popular. Which is why after 50 years of trying to convince voters they failed to overturn it via legislation and had to use the courts.

History gives context, it cannot predict. However using prior knowledge and looking at the material conditions can help you parse out what might happen next based on trends. That being said, "There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.".

I had a wonderful interaction at the post office the other day while wearing the "Reagan Ruined Everything" t-shirt the other day. I went to go mail off my taxes and the post-office worker simply loved to hear himself talk. He kept saying how he liked to make people uncomfortable with his opinions, then when it was my turn in line, he looks at my shirt and asks " Is that the name of a band or something?" I just reply nope, he says oh, and didn't say a single thing after that 😂

16:37 I mean it’s not exactly true that democracy was an invention of the 700s, it had existed in Ancient Greece and those intellectuals knew about it and based their ideas around it. I know that it may seem that a lot of time passed, but also we have to think about the fact that medieval kings had sort of parliaments that which was basically what the National Assembly was based off, absolute monarchy was an “invention” of the modern era and was relatively short lived in comparison to other forms of more “partecipated” models

I hear you. BUT. The more severe the damage, the more severe its correction must be if there is a ticking clock involved.

We were already so close to the Climate Change tipping point, it is entirely possible we are already too late to save Humanity. THEN the oligarchs took over and began systematically destroying everything we needed to save the ecosystem while it still supports our species. The future of our very species literally does not have time to argue. We need the progress yesterday or we are literally all going to suffer until we die, entirely, all in vain. No progress ever again, a number of generations you can count on your fingers, and all of them will suffer more and more until life as we recognize it extinguished.

The stakes have never been higher because they literally CANNOT be higher.

“History doesn’t repeat itself, it echoes.” Been living that as long as I know. In some way or another, we forget where we came from, how we started, or causes to bigger struggles. We have the resources to learn, that is, through whatever books weren’t burned by those in power…
You know, I never really did like how history always seems to be “written by the winners.”

The biggest thing a french revolutionary had to worry about was a cannon, in our current era they can turn you into a cloud of red mist and you did not know they were even there. I strongly advise against attempts of violence. I advise everyone to stock up at least 1 year of food and prepare for horrible things.

Nah, the left who can't handle anyone so much as thinking differently than they do in any way, are just having a fantasy where they delete people who are their betters because they can't cope with what failures they are.

I just hope that, some days, lukewarm democrats like you will realise that your passivity is harming people everyday. You are closing your eyes on shooting victims, on drug addicts, on poverty damages or on law abuses. Each year the suffering count is growing and, each year, you are pretending they don't exist, that there is no cost to your games, that everyone should absolutely not go too far or else…
The only result is that the worst beast is growing from all of it, and just like Germans not that far ago, you won't be able to pretend you have nothing to do with it when it gets free. All this blood is on your hands.

I suspect it may be more like the late 1800s and early 1900s, when anarchists hunted royalty and nobility. Today, similar actors may start kidnapping billionaires. Alternatively, governments might start investigating how they make their money and massively fining them for some of the unethical and/or illegal things they did. In a way, governments could be seen to be kidnapping billionaires for those payments. Russia already does that sort of thing to billionaire oligarchs who fall out of favor with Putin.

The French Revolution turned on itself eventually executing some of its own leaders. It led eventually to the rise of Napoleon, who was such a threat to Europe, stomping on one country after another, that the British and others got together to make sure he met his Waterloo, and he spent his remaining years forcibly exiled to Britain's South Atlantic island of St Helena, wet, windy, with no means of escape.

Sure if you want a French-style revolution in the US to get rid of would-be-king Donald, just bear in mind that it may have unforeseen consequences. Better just to exile Donald to a concrete cell along with all those poltiicians and oligarchs who sided with him against the interests of the American people.

5:55 The crop failures were caused by a volcanic eruption in Iceland that changed the weather patterns and caused torrential rain and cold summers in most of Europe for about 2 years.

We need an entirely new constitution that gives us the power to create a budget for the federal government. We can choose which departments (education, defense, infrastructure, etc…..) get the most money. We do not need Representatives to do that. We need more opportunities to vote than every two years. We can vote on who chairs the committees, we can vote on who heads which departments, we can vote on plenty of other things. Take the power back from our Representatives!

Just a warning for anyone, especially women and ESPECIALLY queer women interested in researching this period further: the Jacobins were wildly, violently misogynistic. Hundreds of women were guillotined during the Terror for failing to conform to traditional gender roles, and there's a massive amount of xenophobic and specifically lesbophobic rhetoric relating to Marie Antoinette. Accusations of her being a lesbian due to coming from the "backwards" Austrian court contributed a not-insignificant amount to the decision to execute her. If you find content discussing the manosphere upsetting, for example, I recommend proceeding into your research with caution. While I do think everyone would benefit from learning more about this history, I was blindsided by a lot of this when I began my own research a few years ago, and I hope that other marginalized folks can go into this with more warning than I had.

I’m gonna say we’re not due the simple fact that the French citizens were willing to engage in unprecedented bloodshed and kill their ruling class while we in the US clearly aren’t despite the fact that our ruling class is very small, elderly and can’t run fast.

IS America on the Edge of its own bloodbath of a Repeat of a French Revolution? Well, Considering that every Prediction in the BIBLE is Supposed to come true, according to all three Religions that Predict that shit and move it along to come true, themselves, by how they ALL Politically Corrupt governments on a Geo-political level between Judaism, Christianity and Islam to fucking CAUSE such Armageddons, THEMSELVES, I BEEN wishing that their Predictions of Religious Persecutions upon THEM hurry the fuck up and come TRUE!!!! Indeed, for LACK of a Prohibition on Political Corruption WITH a Public death Penalty that CAN be regularly Presented at Oakland Coliseum stadium and become more popular than the Jerry Springer Show, for sure, Persecuting, in our case as OUR local problem of THIS, Conservative Christianity, Seems to be the ONLY way to keep those Fuckers from Stuffing the pockets of dirty politicians with church revenue as collected from their suckers and gained by fraud, Everytime. And, besides, it'll be fun to see Peter Teils head roll down Pennsylvania Avenue as warning to other dirty politicians to NOT do What He DID!!!👍
