So much of that resonates with me. Like the messages from your body arguing against what you tell yourself. I have Avoidant Personality Disorder and it really does feel like a physical disoder where my body just reacts bizarely to what I'm going through. Even as a kid I would be in social situations where my thoughts were positive and my body was saying "no, you're actually terrified and want to leave."

And having to continuously force yourself to face scary situations. It's like these skills never stick to me. They just sit on my body loosely and if i don't use them every day, the skills slip off me and I'm back to square one.

I never looked at the things like that. You gave me something to consider. I don't feel I have courage. Sure, I could jump in the fire, I can and did stand up to others for justice or to protect others, and I look strong and fierce. But I lack the courage to make big changes in my life. Changes that I need. That's why going to sleep at night feels like a blessing…it feels like I can put the world on pause and get some peace.

    Hi, Amanda!

I adore your content. I too deal with stress, anxiety and other things too. But at least when I watch your content, I feel much better.

I also can understand why you feel that you need to take five sometimes. I get it.

If you do need to take five, that’s perfectly fine. Just like you taught us, β€œyour mental health is very important.” I hope you have a good day, Amanda!

P.S. Your dog is very cute!πŸ₯°

I can listen to you all day and admire how beautiful a person can be… you're like my daily dose of dopamine. Maybe I am getting a bit carried away but hope you don't mind me saying so.

"Courage is fear that has said its prayers." Β

"I'm going to make a living at voice acting" when people 'encouraged' you to get a degree and a 'real' job, is courage. "I'm going to make honest and vulnerable videos and post them on YouTube" in the face of people who will belittle you for how you look (smokin', btw), or how your voice sounds (soothing, btw), or that they see vulnerability as weakness (it's actually strength, but you know that already), is courage. "I'm going to speak out about an A.I. imitation of my voice that has left me feeling violated" (google 'Midler vs. Ford Motor Company') when every fibre of your being is telling you to stay quiet, it's somebody else's job, and maybe it'll all just go away on its own, is courage! Be bold, be brave, be courageous! Hell, you have a lot of experience at it already! And when your courage leads to to effect change, I'll be right there to tell you, "told ya so!"

For me courage feels like choosing to act in the midst of fear, uncertainty and opposition.
It's accepting that some forms of discomfort are sometimes exactly what we need in order to stimulate growth and to thicken our skins.
That feeling of knowing deep down that I am flowing in harmony with the universe regardless of the challenges I am facing.

From what I've gathered, bravery and courage are not feelings, they are actions, and they are cognitive choices.

It is to temporarily suppress your emotional reflexes to make a decision that may be really stupid or may be really useful and impressive depending, of course, on the calculations you're making.

Sometimes bravery is just a synonym for stupidity, because all it is, is, overriding your fear response to protect yourself, and instead using the adrenaline to do something arguably unnatural, that you've chosen through thought,
It is to override your natural instincts to do something incredible, it's impressive that people have the capacity to do that, we are just bipedal apes, nature is incredible isn't it?

Hey Amanda, you are truly an extraordinary and inspirational woman with a sensual voice. The two songs I like by you are "On My Mind" and "Down." Again, keep up the phenomenal work.
