There were more details you forgot to mention. One being they had trouble selling it with one potential buyer, a developer, wanted to split the property into two since the property had become an extremely tough sell and controversial. The city council said no, yet they said yes to an almost exact property a few houses down. It was suggested that there was a band of people who could’ve been The Watcher and it was heavily implied that the town’s people were protective of the house, but wildly against the family.

Maybe its just that i have particularly good hearing but i can hear the guy just fine over the music. Honestly, i was more annoyed by his misprouncing the word communique.

The grandfather mentioned in the letters. He may have built a way into the house long ago. I'd try to track the former owners, look at the original blueprints, etc.

If the previous owners also received such letters with ramblings about the inside, then the new owners shouldn't be under suspicion. I'd take another look into the "mildly" schizophrenic neighbour. That's like saying someone is only mildly a pedo. The person doing it is RIGHT THERE!
