Tonight, we begin The Fourth Turning by William Strauss and Neil Howe. Written in 1997, they used their generational theory to predict the future. And wow, did they get it right.

I was 18 in 1997. I really miss that world. The world was innocent and free. People at least where I live all got along with each other. People didn't hate each other. You could work a job and support yourself independently. The least interesting thing about a person. Or the thing people cared the least about was your politics. Then on September 11th 2001 that world died. I get emotional when I think back to how things used to be. I feel bad for the people born after the day the world changed. There isn't much hope left anymore. Things are only going to get more chaotic, more expensive, more violent. I hope my time in this world doesn't drag on. I do not fear death I welcome it.

Read the whole series in the 90s… just read the latest from 2023 6 months ago. Yeah… amazing… listen to the Art Bell interview from the 90s… its what got me into the topic… and Im 1971 midel GenX.
