The Rwandan genocide of 1994, in which a million people were slaughtered in three months, is widely recognized yet often misunderstood. This film seeks to challenge the narrative that frames the genocide as merely an instance of inter-ethnic violence in Africa, irrelevant to a wider, especially European, audience. It argues that the massacre of the Tutsis was not an outbreak of collective madness but the culmination of decades of planning, deeply entrenched in the legacies of European racism and colonialism.
By tracing the origins of the genocide back to 1959, the documentary exposes the sequence of events and mechanisms that led to the atrocities of 1994. It explores how ethnic divisions were deliberately created and manipulated, and how geopolitical rivalries, particularly between America and France, contributed to a global indifference that allowed Hutu extremists to prepare for the massacre openly. The film also delves into the role of societal manipulation and polarization in turning ordinary people against each other.
Featuring interviews with a range of key figures, including President Paul Kagame, survivors, perpetrators, experts, and diplomats who attempted to prevent the violence, this documentary presents a moving and thought-provoking investigation into one of the most devastating tragedies of our time.

For many of us , it’s not just a story- it’s memory.
I am Rwandan. I live in Rwanda. And what happened in 1994 during the genocide against the Tutsi is something words will never fully hold. It wasn’t just history- it was pain, loss, silence, and survival.
This video reminds the world of something important: human beings are capable of unimaginable cruelty… but also of rebuilding from the ashes.
Today, we carry one message with us every single day: Never Again. Not just as a slogan- but as a responsibility to humanity.
If you’re watching this, don’t just see a documentary Learn. Remember. And choose humanity.

It's weird how a people would try and force others to this point. It reminds me of this Trump thing. You may not like the guy, but we voted. Killing him would invoke this type of reaction, yet who cares right?

You cannot lay the blame at someone else's feet when you were the committing the act. In the end you are the one responsible for your actions, not a people who left your country 30 years earlier.

O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of God and Mother of all humanity, we turn to you with heavy hearts, seeking your maternal intercession for the continent of Africa.
We look to your gaze, which once watched over the suffering humanity of Jesus, and we beg you to turn those merciful eyes toward the lands of Africa, currently afflicted by cycles of violence, conflict, and deep-seated unrest.
We ask that you purify the hearts of those who harbor hatred, that you may be a source of comfort for the displaced, and that you guide the leaders of nations toward paths of reconciliation and justice.
We humbly beseech you, O Queen of Peace, to intercede with your Son to bring an end to all violence across the African continent, replacing fear with trust, oppression with freedom, and conflict with a lasting, harmonious peace that allows every child, woman, and man to live in safety and dignity.
We are inspired by the certainty that your eyes, which wept over the earth crimsoned by the blood of Jesus, are yet turned toward this world racked by wars and persecutions.
As we seek your heavenly assistance, we pray that the spirit of nonviolence may take root in every corner of Africa, and that the dignity of every human soul—moulded in the image of God—may be recognized and respected by all.
May your guidance lead the people of Africa from despair to hope, and from the shadows of violence into the light of a new day, where love and understanding triumph over the darkness of division.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary, hear our prayer for the healing and peace of Africa.
Amen.

The UN is one of the most ineffectual organizations ever. For every success they have, they have 10 events where they made no difference or made things worse.
@madmax6439
May 4, 2026 at 5:38 pm
I'm still trying to understand, the only UN general that try to stop all the genocide was general DALLAIER. He basically before the genocide have information of people who have weapons hidden in all Rwanda and the UN just told him not to proceed.
I mean it was obviously that embassadors from each international embassy in the country knew something was going to happen and they let it happen. Was like they believed the only solution was the genocide since all nations saw that this UN peace proposal was never going to happen.
Seriously they let it happen and even the french agree to this horrible solution. The french help all the Rwanda army with: Machetes brought from China, Assault rifles from France, old British rifles from the black market and obviously AK 47 rifles and ammunition.
I still believe that the once who killed the president were the same HUTU army and the once who creat this genocide as part of a well organized planed.
I'm actually glad that the rebels are the once in power but I'm actually worry a little. Because when president dies today, what will be next??, the same peace today or someone else will try to rise to power.
@How-We-Laugh
May 4, 2026 at 5:38 pm
Remember the UN were saying there was no genocide, and that's why they let it continue and Belgian rule formalized racial divisions between Hutus and Tutsis, favouring the Tutsi minority before supporting a Hutu revolution in the late 1950s that led to independence. Who was sending all the Machetes and who allowed the president to be killed. It showed how useless the UN was and still is today.

You can blame it on Europe if you want but as each individual grabbed an ax and started chopping people up the crime rests on that person alone!!!!
@Rogue_Centurion
May 4, 2026 at 5:38 pm
The amount of people trying to shift any blame away from the Europeans possible is shameful. Europeans were the ones who created these tensions and conditions between the Hutus and Tutsis. They were the ones who made sure to establish the practice of marking papers as Hutu or Tutsi. They encouraged this tension to build.
