Im sure there's no reason at all I just got recommended this ten year old video about KayPay. None whatsoever.
For those immune to satire, there is, in fact, a reason this has been recommended ten years down the line.

How I wish I could go back in time and tell Todd the things that happened to Katy Perry between 2014 and 2026. No one outside Canada even knew who Justin Trudeau was in 2014!

probably the only good song she ever made cause despite how hard you are trying there to make it sound like the beat is awful, you are horribly wrong and its actually very good

This song is clearly a ripoff of the theme from Godzilla.

If Todd didn't have this self aware side to him he would genuinely be that critic from a disney movie about an artist and the critic almost ends their career.
He just has that fictional character energy.

Katy Perry's music was so overplayed in my youth, hearing it may as well give me hives I'm that sick of and repulsed by it

Ok I was 11 when this song came out and it was my favorite thing in the world. I loved the music video especially. The main appeal at the time (and even now I still have a soft spot for it) was the power fantasy. All of her music videos in this era were like made in a lab to be perfect escapist fantasies for weird bullied middle school girls. Which I guess seemed like a weird artistic direction for people who knew her older stuff.

Hardly the point, but the Bangles were a lovely palate cleanser here

Watching this video 10 years later and getting jumpscared by DIEGO LUNA AKA CASSIAN ANDOR at 2:23 was not something I expected going in

One of the most uncomfortable parts about this song for me is the casual comparison to an actual serial killer who did heinous things to his victims.

ngl I really liked the pmj cover, which only made me more frustrated with the original material

The fact her post divorce songs sound like breakup songs should be a cue. Divorce songs are usually more mature and she wasn't there yet
