#1 is when Kima gets shot. It's the best scene in the show. Then after that when Rawls comforts McNulty. The voice analysis of the "killer" that describes McNulty to a T. The opener of Season 5 with the copy machine. McNulty's "funeral" and Landmans speech.

to all my “The Wire” fans here in the comments who like to read (actual books, not just captions and comments 😒) go pick up “All The Pieces Matter”! A dope ass book about the series by J. Abrams

Not including Snoop's shooting in the top three of this list automatically invalidates this list. Also, not including Marlo when he said, "MY NAME IS MY NAME!!!" means whoever did this list is not a true fan.

It's almost criminal that The Wire didn't win any Emmys. In the long run it didn't matter, since people still talk about and revere the show 20+ years later.

The scene when Bunny Colvin goes to the prison to meet with Wee-bey to discuss him looking after Namond to get him away from his mother, and away from the corners. Always loved that one.

Snoop in the hardware store is one of the best scenes in TV history, not just for The Wire. Two people operating in entirely different worlds discussing a consumer product, with completely different perspectives on its purpose and utility, still able to conduct a normal commercial transaction. The clerk only catches a brief glimpse of the violence in which Snoops is immersed when she describes how devastating a small caliber slug can be, but it's washed away immediately by the conclusion of the transaction. Brilliant writing and performances.

To me, my favorite scene was season 4, where Lex & Bodie was talking, and Lex was talking about killing Fruit because he was talking to his baby momma Patrice. And Bodie told Lex to leave Patrice alone. That was the scene that set off seasons 4 & 5 .

The best scene is Avon meeting Marlo in prison. How did yall miss that one? That scene is underrated because most people have no idea what Avon was really up to. Yall fired.

Cheese Wagstaff, before his demise: "There ain't no "back in the day," nigga! Ain't no nostalgia to this shit here! There's just the street, and the game, and what happen here today." True words from a ruthless man.
