I am surprised see I figured this episode was a true representation of friends which I was never a fan totally hated the show , thought it was awful from the get go ,, still hate it to this day , I thought they did a great job , and funny I am the same age as most of the characters in friends , we did do that shit that was not a Gen X thing , that’s why friends was more millennial so and in Chicago that went a thing to do

The sword thing isn't just ridiculous. It hints at one of the greatest themes of the series: who you are by birth matters less than your actions. Having a great big fate may sound cool, but being a legitimately good person, making the hard choices even if that means a life of mediocrity is what makes a true hero

The fact these shows were airing at the same time broke my brain a little😅 like I technically knew that (the channel that airs reruns just finished the last season and started back at one so I knew it ran to the mid-90’s) but it still feels weirdly discordant
Also was that “hug them and love them” a loony toons reference? Because it instantly made me picture daffy being squeezed by the white monster guy😅

I was 20-something when friends came out and I HATED friends. I hated it. It had nothing to do with my life in any way. I thought their lifestyles were ridiculously lavish compared to what I was struggling through. Of course, I wasn't watching Murder She Wrote either… I got off work at 3am from my bartender shift at the time. There was nothing on my crappy little portable TV but re-reuns and informercials. So, I guess I didn't count, in the eyes of marketers. Who I truly grew to loathe over the years were marketers.

Old video I know but I'll die on this hill even as a millennial who MSW definitely wasn't targetting. MSW is 10x the show Friends ever was or ever will be.

I a younger crowd and I love murder she wrote much more than friends. and I watched them both. Angela Lansbury is captivating in her performance and thr mysteries are always so titillating. CBS was stuoid to have done what it did.
