President Trump announced that today the US attacked and seized an Iranian cargo ship, the TOUSKA, that tried to get past America’s naval blockade. The war in Iran began on February 28th when the US and Israel attacked Iran. Soon after the start of the war, Iran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz. On April 8 the US began a naval blockade on Iran to pressure them to open the Strait. On Friday the Strait appeared to be partially open, but yesterday Iran closed it and attacked multiple ships in the Strait. President Trump said today that an American negotiating team will arrive in Islamabad, Pakistan tomorrow night for peace talks. But Iran has not yet agreed to participate.
