No wonder you didn't change throughout your adventure. You went to New York. Going home unchanged from NYC is actually kind of an achievement. If anything you should return in worse shape than you left. You certainly wouldn't be in better condition. That would be like coming home rested after a nice relaxing day of chemotherapy. Only if chemo caused cancer instead of destroying it. But I'm glad you went. I love New York City.
