I really feel like the top tip for hitting on someone at their place of work is, don't do that. Bartenders, baristas, supermarket cashiers – let them do their job rather than trying to take advantage of the fact they can't walk away.

Im not an expert and have not been on many dates… BUT I don't think most women want men, who are SO gentlemanly that they become smothering.
Also, you laugh, but my last flirt ended when I let her walk in the door first and a snake came out of nowhere. We don't even really have venomous snakes, but there it was.

I know it's hard to put nuance into a TikTok, and there is some good advice in these, but I think the thing that feels weird about a lot of these types of videos is just the assumption that all women are exactly the same. "Women like this" – like some women will? I would absolutely hate a man pulling out my chair, kissing my hand, ordering for me, etc. It would just make me feel uncomfortable. Other women might be okay with it or prefer it. They're so concerned with putting on this performance for women, but they don't encourage communication to actually understand what the woman likes or wants.

It's fascinating how some of these videos will have genuinely sensible advice like "if you're unsure, ask if you can kiss them" or "don't just approach strangers from behind or touch them without their consent", but then other advice sounds like it's coming from a 19th century gentleman teaching you how to be "chivalrous".

Maybe the standards are just super low, but these videos really don't seem that bad. They're a bit much, but they at least encourage you to be nice and respectful to women instead of acting like some alpha male freak.
