We are truly seeing the reason for the expressions "Can't buy class/cool', and "some people are so poor all they have is money"
That's the positive to hold on too. When conservatives where told "the north" was coming to destroy their way of life and culture they went to war. And it resulted in the end of slavery in the US. When conservatives in Germany were convinced to fear the left so much they went to fascism Germany came back further left. We are still in for pain but people are seeing how evil this ideology is and how destructive bigotry is for everyone. It will not be easy but there is a light at the end. Keep fighting.

Tulsi Gabbard is fascinating. She’s always positioned herself slightly apart from whichever group she belongs to, just enough to signal independence and attract attention, but not so far as to lose relevance. It’s a textbook positioning for someone who views politics less as expression of a belief system and more as personal narrative or pathological brand building. Given the current American attraction to the cult of personality dynamic, we are increasingly rewarding figures who frame themselves as singular truth-tellers, iconoclasts cutting through institutional rot. Gabbard’s calm intensity, military credentials, and contrarian branding all serve that formula. She’s simultaneously “the outsider” and “the one who really gets it.” For someone motivated by recognition and control, that’s a potent identity to cultivate.

Summary of the Whistleblower Complaint Against Tulsi Gabbard
What the complaint is about
An anonymous U.S. intelligence official filed a whistleblower complaint in May 2025 alleging wrongdoing connected to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

A big issue is the disconnect. See, maga says smaller government..Trump and his cronies hear "to many government officials" when maga actually means "stop charging me fees upon fees upon fees just to put a shed in my yard"
People complain about affordability so trump means they dont want to pay full price for a luxury vehicle when they mean "we would like to be able to afford both rent and food this month". Citizens say taxes are to high. Trump hears cut taxes when the people want to know why their taxes are so high and the "personal" benefit is barely there…schools cutting programs, teachers, transportation. Healthcare is through the roof, the water from the tap is poisoned, electricity bills skyrocketing because data centers thats offer no benefit to the population…MAGA thinks they dont qualify for snap because they make $1 to much and its because of us having humanitarian aid programs when its actually the rich guy who makes money faster than he will EVER spend getting a tax cut…

We need to get away from the Cold War ideas about spies. Gabbard doesn't have a "spy master" or a "handler." Donald Trump doesn't have some Russian who he meets with in private and gets his marching orders from. The Bushes didn't go to Prince Bandar and ask what to do in a given situation.
These people are much less formal than that. Bush 43, after decades of taking Saudi money, knew not to bite the hand that had fed him for so long. Donald Trump knows, even as old as he is, that he might need Russian oligarch money to bail him or his children out. He doesn't want to bite the hand that feeds.
These aren't Cold War spies. They're just people compromised by unrestricted capitalism. Gabbard wants money, and you don't get it by doing a civil servant's job. Clarence Thomas wants money, and you don't get it on a judge's salary. These people were chosen for ambition, not even their willingness to be ethically flexible, because if you're ambitious enough, that comes with the territory.
The solution to all this is higher tax rates on the uber-wealthy and severe limits to how much they can financially participate in the running of our country. Money is not speech; it's a megaphone that drowns out everything but the Epstein class.
We either need to reign the wealthy in, or end their reign, and the French had some pretty good ideas about how to do the latter.
