In a world with seemingly infinite amounts of influencing factors on your daily life, it’s hard to know which thoughts are yours and which ones have been planted there by your friends, family, and the internet. Thinking for yourself is a critical skill, and one that we could all use in 2022.

I don't fully understand what each of your stories mean, but I think I get the jist. I want to break away from the algorithms, so that I can find what my path is and how best to navigate life. I find that I have watched so much and taken so much information, that I can no longer take in anymore. Everything seems to have just moulded into one with some of the things I agree with being a contradiction of the other. Thinking for yourself is very difficult, when you have spent your whole life in a western school system that rewards collective thinking and doing. I saw this in myself as I have achieved goals in life. If those goals align with what others think I should achieve, I feel more certain and settled than achieving something even I desire, but others do not see as cannon. Long story short, i'm trying, life's a bit hard and the internet doesn't seem to be making it any easier and I want to do better, but at the same time I want to rest and fall back into the illusion of progress, chronically online. I hope others can share some wisdom on this.

Well first I don't believe a single person who watches your channel actually doesn't think for themselves, otherwise we wouldn't be here…
Second, there's this rule in 48 laws of power (paraphrasing) where it says "Think differently than others, but speak the same as they think" which means you can have your thoughts if you keep them to yourself and a select few people, because it's useless to try and change people's minds who are locked in to the programming…

As a side note, I never understood people who listen to influencers blindly, I literally can't imagine doing something JUST because someone said so – I always have to think "will it benefit me, will it work FOR ME ?" before taking action on any advice, so buying things because an idiot online said so ? no thank you.

I think part of the problem is because of our educational system which taught us to learn the ideas , concepts and remember it for the exams.
We are more conditioned and focused on remembering the stuff we consumed rather than thinking on it . Thinking on it is basically processing it and it will automatically make you remember .

This channel gave me that dreaded vibe again.

Edit: after watching the video, I guess this video did challenge me with the fear I have in not being in control of myself (especially robots).

Social media had it’s time but in today’s world people are too engulfed in it.

    I was in 7th grade when I got a Facebook,(I think, 2006ish) this year I deleted it.

    I feel relieved.

I just want you to know that I use your videos to help myself sleep, I can't sleep without noises but too much noises like music keeps me awake, so before I sleep I listen to your videos mostly or podcast etc. I don't know it's weird, but anyways it's 1:36am in the Philippines rn so I have to go to sleep, happy listening to me

Groupthink, kills independent thought, but also leads to decisions that might be wrong. Question ideas, admit dissent, it's an error correcting mechanism, an antidote to blindness born of hubris and arrogance.
