60,000 Trump Voters Just Elected a Socialist. We Asked Them Why.

More Perfect Union | February 25, 2026

A full 10% of NYC Trump voters turned around and voted for Zohran Mamdani.
So we went to talk to them.
These voters are done with the status quo. One New Yorker told us: “As Americans, we can realize it’s not Republican versus Democrat. It’s more of like a class war.”

0:55 and you shouldn’t fit into any one box. Humans are far too complex to associate with a single identity, a single ideology. Siding with only conservative, only liberal, only Republican, only Democrat, is destructive and dangerous. Political parties can’t embody your values and principles. They have agendas besides appealing to a broad audience. To blindly follow a specific leader or party is asking to be fooled.

I understand them. Status quo sucks. Democrats sucks. Republicans sucks. Both parties have people in the files. Ironically for a country known for having a lot of choices, there isn't a lot of choice when it comes to politics. That's why when there's a wild card like Clinton, Obama, Trump or Mamdani, they immediately get people's attention.

Watching Americans experience something normal for the first time is like watching a North Korean defector discover food. The craziest part is they're convinced the logical and mathematical conclusions are not viable and think their fascist, narcissist greed system that regularly genocides people is the true reality.

I have seen more of the world between growing up in the military, a study abroad in college and traveling for work. I have stepped on all seven continents and a lot of countries. It is amazing the differences, some small and some large, between the United States and the world for the better and the worse. I have been places in developed countries with both good and bad things and have been in third world countries where they are good, but the United States wins in spades. This channel hopefully helps people see and inform all the sides of the story.

It wasn't that he was democractic socialist. At all. It was that he was one that supported Trump. And any other of the Epstein crowd. They want a democratic socialist that fits into their plan of action. They will use them as they used Bernie. When it's strategically relevant to agree with it, it will be. When it's not politically advantageous, it won't be. People using business tactics in politics are like a triple shot expresso for manipulation. And remember folks to them its, 'Just Business'. But on the flip side. Maybe, this democratic socialist is understanding the same game and trying to help the American people too. But, be weary. Do not let the past be shoved under er a rug to quickly when it comes to the loss of the lives of innocents by the hand of those meant to protect us. Focus on the Epstein stuff until ever person is held accountable.

Most people don't care about politics when they vote they choose whoever says is going to solve most of there problems. They vote by issues. Nothing else. People just trying to survive.

It’s not just America watching, it’s the world. I’m from New Zealand’s most expensive city, watching and hoping someone like Zohran can make it better for the working class. Cause if New York can do it, maybe we can to

I think it's extremely important that Zohran started his entire campaign by asking "why did you vote for trump?" instead of immediately just stereotyping the republican voter and defending things which they don't understand why are important.

In reality, the majority of laypeople want their communities to be prosperous. If you antagonize them instead of working with them, you're simply going to lose to someone who does cater to that demographic. That's why the democrats ended up so powerless.
