Reacting to the Most Ridiculous 90s & 2000s Commercials

Matteo Lane | February 24, 2026

These 90s and 2000s commercials were pure chaos — wild products, over-the-top acting, and jingles that still live rent-free in our heads. Let’s take a trip back to the golden age of late-night infomercials and unhinged TV ads.

This song has been popular since my 90 year old mom was in high school. Double your pleasure, double your fun, with double mint double mint, double mint gum. Always with the twins in matching outfits.

I lovedddd the respect the pouch ads for Caprisun. They did an entire campaign and website that had a flash game? or something of the sorts that I spent way too long on on the family computer

I have a conspiracy theory about the E.D. commercial. I think big pharma contributed massive amounts to his campaign, with the promise that he would win. So when he lost, he had to find a way to work back the money.

Because of being canadian and also slightly late to the 90s (born in 95) I have never seen most of these until today but I know of the references that people would make to them. Because shows would reference them (the two that I can specifically think of is the "whatsaaaaaap" reference in the office, and meow Mix in Futurama. So I finally get to see the actual references! Woohoo.

You'll never see this but I'm going to start commenting on your other videos too, you should review old Canadian psas. (Concerned children's advertiser's specifically had WILD ones) They are absolutely crazy.

i mentioned the junkyard commercial to my mom by just mentioning the door falling off and she said "oh ya! and it was in bensenville!" so. i guess it was indeed iconic to gen x and millenials
