This is an oddly specific idea that just kind of hit me one day. I wanted to make a video going into the backgrounds of a few of my favorite songs. Then once I made the video, I realized how the context helped my listening experience.

disagree. modern baseball is peak beta male nice guy aesthetics. That song about dreaming about Chloe while she's getting railed out by Chad feels like it's straight off of an incel forum. That band is so disgusting and repellent.

Adding to the chorus: go listen to Mount Eerie’s “A Crow Looked At Me.”

Also seeing him perform that live in the city where his wife died is a harrowing experience.

i cant wait to get your take on iridecense!!! i thought it was absolutely amazing, very futuristic and addressing a lot of themes about toxic masculinity and the ways that brockhampton subverts it. also joba!!!! he really stepped up his game and i think he really shines on this album. but yeah id love to hear your thoughts!!

Hey, have you heard of The Antlers "Hospice" album? If not, it's an amazing concept album about a man who works at a hospice center, a woman with stage four bone cancer, and their troubled romance, from bitter beginnings to cold, empty end. I highly recommend it if you haven't listened to it.

IMO sufjan's album pales in comparison to Mount Eerie's "a crow looked at me." If you are looking for the most raw and unfiltered look at loss then I would look to Mount Eerie's last two albums.
