16:15 I want to throw out there as an Idaho resident, that whole "Death Zone" thing has been made so widely popular for literally no reason. Its is an interesting thought experiment at best. Court would still be held with a jury appointed from the Fremont County in which the Idaho portion of Yellowstone resides in. While the original thought experiment was to imagine nobody has control over that part of Yellowstone, you can actually imagine the exact opposite being true as well in which both a jury from Fremont and Park counties could both be brought in simultaneously, and it would still check out and make sense legally. This could be done at the Federal level to move the case from a State v Defense to 9th Federal v Defense case, which would, yet again, make the "Death Zone" myth NA (and if some crazy felony were to ever happen in this location, this will be the outcome almost certainly). What you say about splitting Yellowstone into multiple regional districts would infact fix all of this convolution, but for real I dont follow you at all on the Canyon County example you gave for why Idaho doesnt make the change, more realistically, the bennefits for working for the Wyoming State far outweigh the benefits Idaho State gives its employees, and transfering peoples entire payrolls from one state to the other would certainly not sit well with the employees. Not just that, this would now also create the problem of the now very real state border between Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming, meaning Yellowstone Park just got 3x harder logistically to maintain and monitor. I think thats a much more likely reason then the RED country of Canyon County(9) and the also very red Park County Wyoming gettin kahoots, Idaho is already so so so gerrymanered as is we as a state are not worried about the blues winning any new discricts any time soon.
TLDR, The Idaho Death Zone is a myth and yall needa stop talking about it like its not a work of fiction.
