The city of golf carts
Some American cities use buses, or trams, or trains. Peachtree City, Georgia, has a different solution: it’s not quite public transit, but a hundred miles of golf cart tracks helps to keep cars off the road.

The Georgia road trip continues! Thanks to Mayor Fleisch and her team for their time. I realise that the golf carts aren't directly comparable to public transit – for a start, they're privately-owned – but I'd say that replacing cars with slower-speed, electric vehicles is at least an improvement!

Man hearing that a Town of 35000 is "Small" is kind of crazy when my city is about that size and I would need to drive over 8 hours to see a city with 1M people

This city is further proof that Americans prefer being able to drive on winding streets and small vehicles over stroads.

They also don't tell you the high school kids fly down the paths and almost kill you in the process.

They build a brilliant network for bikes and they use golf carts instead. Only in 🇺🇸

this is so republican-core. "how can we make bike paths as hostile as possible to bikes and pedestrians?"
a quick google search tells me golf carts have hit cyclist on the trails there. amazing

Lived here a long time ago
It was truly amazing how we could go anywhere on golf carts. Wanna go get a shake from Chick-fil-A on a hot summer day? You can get there in 5 mins. Amazing place.

You should continue this series with Catalina Island, there is also a lot of golf carts that they use to drive

That could only work in a warm southern city. Where I live there would need to be a fleet of golf carts mounted with plows and salt spreaders.

Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays has a large golf kart network. I spent a week there and loved driving around in them. My favourite part was seeing the mini garages built into people's houses for them.

I’ve watched your videos for years and have yet to come across a place I already knew about. This video is the exception, though even ptc the city I grew up next to, you still tell me something I didn’t know.
