Good day Jon
Thanks for sharing the Namco press kit with us
Great hi score collection
Played these games quite a lot at the arcade when I was a kid
Can you buy them as a collector or individually and what is the price point for both !
Have a great rest of your day !!!!!

Awesome.
Lucky i still own my childhood originals:
Galaga
Ms. Pac Man
Xevious
Dig Dug
The New Pac Man looks cool though.
And even though i own the PS1 Arcade perfect Namco & Atari Collections, i still play my Atsri 7800 versions instead.
Nevertheless, awesome. 👍

just out of curiosity, what happens if you pop the pacman cartridge in an original 7800? can you play both versions without the physical switches on the new hardware or you are simply locked out? is it even compatible? I still have dig dug, and mr.s PacMan, but I remember the ardtowks were gray scale back then, except for some exceptions like games licensed from Nintendo (for instance mario bros, Donkey Kong and commando)

Hey John!
Do you have the scoreboards on for your 7800 games?
Apparently these come with high score carts. So if you access the hidden menu in your firmware, you can turn it on and keep your own high score tables

Great roundup! Growing up in NYC, I also read the manuals on the way home, on the city bus from Crazy Eddie’s or wherever I purchased them!

Hey John, did you enjoy the slow PAL versions? And after finishing one game of Galaga, did you get stuck in an unending Novice level of Galaga where you are invincible and you can not die? Its a bug because the PAL version of Galaga can’t handle the highscore option of the plus system.

I do not have a console to play these on, and if I bought one, it would mean a huge fight with my wife, however, I definitely want them! I have the new DLC, and it has made me a super fan of Xevious – somehow I totally missed that game as a kid, but not only do I love the arcade version, the 7800 port may actually be even more fun! One day, when I’m retired, and my kids are all out of the house, I will have a game room that will be 100% set asidefor gaming and music production. Then I will go back and collect all of these and she won’t have anything to complain about!

WHen I play Galaga nowadays and get captured, I cannot help but say, "I am Locutus of Borg. Resistance is Futile."

Question-In the new Pac Man double feature cart, did they tweak the 2600 version so that the ghost AI is more realistic and challenging? I just found the ghosts in this version much "smarter" than the original 2600 cart.
Thanks for sharing as always!

It would be great if they started producing new Atari Force mini comics to include with some of the new releases. I believe Galaxian originally came with a comic. Would have been great if they had come up with something similar for Galaga.

Great review as always, Jon. Also a nice and creative presentation by Atari. I had closed captions enabled and had to laugh when you sniffed the manual and it said "snorts". PLP👾😁

Received my Pac-Man 2600+ not too long ago that comes with this game! I love it! Like I stated before in a previous video, I purchased an additional Pac-Man joystick which came separately. A few days ago, my purchase of the Pac-Man double feature separately came in, but I’m debating whether or not I should take it out of the plastic since I also have this physical cartridge since it came with the Pac-Man console. Very tempting! Great video as always, Jon!!!

“Reading the manuals in the car on the way home…”. Yes! I absolutely did this every time I’d get a new game. 😄

Congrats on getting all these press kits.
I am hoping one of these days I will get a press kit from a company.
I do lots of un-boxings myself and even have un-boxed all of the Atari+ consoles including the Pac-Man edition which I was not going to get but just something about the bright yellow Atari 2600 console put a bug in me and I needed it. xD
Also was not going to get the Intellivision Sprint at first but I have come around and even though there is no cartridge slot I at least like that you can put games on a flash drive so that at least makes it slightly different from a plug and play.
And thanks a bunch for letting us know about the Pac-Man Double Feature stuff the player 2 ghost is so awesome and so is the random maze generator going to love when I do the next Retro Atari stream of this new Pac-Man for sure!

How would you access the secret menu on a 7800 or 7800+ system?

You and the GXG channel are the absolute perfect target for these press kits; so well presented, explored, and shared. It's always great to get your genuine first reaction to things like this, good on you for not giving into temptation by sneaking a peek!

My only gripe with this collection: No Pole Position or Pole Position II.

At the end of the day Pac-Man is still number one, especially with these new features
