Your only gonna know as much as what they show you, this thing influences and changes perceptions, it’s a monitoring device not necessarily for good.

Celebrating 188 subscribers! Thank you for this; we are just chronically overstimulated with an insatiable need for comfort. I've focused on creating a much needed break: a 3-day meditation challenge on Dopamine Detox to cleanse the mind from noise, recalibrate to silence, purge the cultural conditioning for constant productivity, and strengthen concentration that was broken by multitasking and incessant distractions. Together, we can release habits that depend on external stimulation, and replace them with longer attention spans, regulated nervous systems, and more satisfaction in life.

Thanks for sharing this — good to know this problem wasn’t just happening in my house 🙂
I’ve got two kids in primary school and for a while I just couldn’t handle the whole phone thing. Once they got their hands on the phones, there was no way to pull them away – I tried asking nicely, setting limits, using parental control apps… nothing worked. They’re smarter than me and could get around everything.
I also didn’t want to take the phones away completely, because they do use them for school and to stay in touch with me, and I don’t want them to feel punished all the time.
My solution?
By chance I came across something called Scrolly – it’s a small gadget/little figure that you attach to the phone, and it blocks selected apps, leaving only the ones they actually need (like for learning or contacting me). As long as I keep the little figure with me, there’s no way the boys can unlock their phones on their own. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricey.
I’m not writing this as an ad – I bought it myself with my own money, and honestly it’s such a relief after trying so many things that didn’t work. Maybe it’ll help someone else who’s dealing with the same problem.

A recent study was done for phone addiction. A classroom environment with 60 adults were asked to place their phones in a box before entering the room. Once everyone was seated they were all asked one question: “what is the date today?” Only 1 person answered the question without confidence (guessed) and got it right. All the others simply stared blankly . . .

For the sleeping problems I just lower my phone brightness to ‘0’ when I’m in my bed and then at a set time I put my phone down and I go to sleep, 😀 does help for me

I think using a cell phone is bad but when you use ur phone to close to you it can be a feeling of stress n pressure for the orbital and can cause damage to the hands and can cause arthritis because you eyes aren’t use to movement when you hold your phone in front of you in bed or else where like in a car or in public can be harmful that’s why you should not use a cellphone up.

Smart phones are easily the most impactful social/utilitarian invention of all time.
The Wheel, The printing Press, Electricity all of them pale in comparison to the immediate impact they had on global society.
Even the mighty PC pales in comparison.
