The Fishermen That Hold Their Breath For 10 Minutes

The Bajau people of Borneo can hold their breath longer than almost anyone else on the planet. How? Why? And how can the rest of us learn to hold our breath for longer? Rohin from Medlife Crisis explains.

if the bajau people have been free diving for thousands of years in order to evolve to become better free divers,
then how could they see underwater before the invention of swim goggles,
since humans have extremely poor vision underwater,
especially in salt water that stings the eyes
and where are the videos that show a bajau person freediving for 10 minutes?
is there any scientific evidence of a bajau person freediving for 10 minutes?

Tom! Did you forget that you took January off 4 years ago as stated in this video?! You have taken time off so youāre actually human. Thank god, I can rest easy now š

Holding my breath for three to four minutes leaves my lungs burning. I canāt imagine holding it for ten minutes, never mind swimming while doing it.

I wonder if they will get more fishlike features in the future if they continue to dive live that? Fins? Gills? ect š

This is going to sound stupid but it's the truth, nearly 30 years ago as a class cutting pothead that didn't give any effort at anything me and my friend would see who could take a hit off our water bong and hold it the longest,we would do it everyday,it was then I realized you can train your lungs to hold your breath for 2+ minutes

I wonder if this is the same tribe I saw a video/read about once about a strikingly unique phenomenon where young divers were able to biologically adjust their eyes to see clearly underwater.
Phenomenal video! Got me thinking I need to look at my heart some thing closer

Or I can just spend a couple of bucks on an air refill for my dive tanks and enjoy the effects of nitrogen narcosis on my deep dives… I'll choose the latter… š

Yeh ok. Australians and their stonefish say no. My greatest fear at the beach is stepping on a rock. My heart drops every single time.

My Grandfather said the worlds most powerful hangover cure was to dunk your head in a bucket of water three times and take it out twice. He guaranteed that you would NEVER have another hangover ever!

I can dump myself in the pool and scare everyone by staying under for 6 minutes. I come up red in the face as I'm practically pushing myself and gasping for air, but I can do it. I jumped off a cliff into freezing cold water to chase after my mates gf's mobile phone. Found it 20m down š Come up holding it up after having spent 5 minutes looking for it. š

I used to be able to hold my breath for 3 minutes. I used to practice at school after I finished work and was waiting. I'd hold my breath and watch the clock. I swam every day. We had an Olympic sized swimming pool at the motel my parents owned/ran and I could swim the length and back underwater.
Then I started smoking. :::facepalm:::
