Cockpit Recording Captures Nightmare Flight | Last Moments

You may never want to fly again after hearing this story of an airliner’s absolutely terrifying rollercoaster ride out of the sky, and the bizarre circumstances that led to it happening.

“Aeroflot Flight 593 was a regular passenger flight from Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow, to Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong. On 23 March 1994, the aircraft operating the route, an Airbus A310-304 flown by Aeroflot – Russian International Airlines, crashed into a mountain range in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia, killing all 63 passengers and 12 crew members on board.
No evidence of a technical malfunction was found. Cockpit voice and flight data recorders revealed the presence of the relief pilot’s 12-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son on the flight deck. While seated at the controls, the pilot’s son had unknowingly disengaged the A310’s autopilot control of the aircraft’s ailerons. The autopilot then disengaged completely causing the aircraft to roll into a steep bank and a near-vertical dive. Despite managing to level the aircraft, the first officer over-corrected when pulling up, causing the plane to stall and enter into a spin; the pilots managed to level the aircraft off once more, but by then the plane had lost too much altitude to recover and crashed into the Kuznetsk Alatau mountain range.”

    I took a trip to E. Tx to see Mom and Dad with Brad, dear friend and flight instructor. He let me take the controls early on. I wanted to go to AF Academy. Ended up at West Point. FB baffles me. Sorry mates.

    . We got to Love Field on the way back. Really bumpy air. Kinda scary but so cool. Brad passed early of cancer. Great guy. Nancy, his widow and young son too. Miss that guy.

    First off they should have turned the auto pilot off if they were gonna intervene, second don't panic, the pilot would have saved it the first attempt otherwise. Also I guess yea dont let ur kids pretend fly, make sure they KNOW they are flying and keep ur hand on the controls so you can overpower their movements if nessicary, flying a plane really is easier than driving a car, complacency and lack of awareness leading to panic is what killed em.

    On one hand, I wonder, why children were ever allowed in plane cockpits, on the other hand, I am especially baffled as to why the plane was programmed to have the pilot override the autopilot without giving a very clear audio warning. This whole tragedy could've easily been prevented if there just was a simple "Autopilot Disabled" warning

    Mentour Pilot did a video recently about another Russian incident where both engines were out due to a birdstrike. The pilots were all over the cockpit, but the plane, an Airbus, decided to fix the issue and softly landed itself in a cornfield. The pilots got medals from the emperor of Russia for their heroism, but the poor airplane was not invited to the ceremony.

    Pilots and ppl of the like need to go through some kind of class or sumtin to be able to manage their panic- how to control it and not allow it to take over the rational side of der brain..

    Yesterday a plane in São Paulo literally fell out of the sky in a death spiral downwards. All 61 souls on board died. There's video of the death spiral and it's pretty horrifying. Just thought I'd mention that given the intro of the video.
