Why America needs automatic voter registration

A simple fix to get more Americans to vote.

Americans are notoriously bad at voting, but it’s not because they’re unpatriotic or lazy. It’s because most states make it really difficult to even register to vote.

It’s time for the US to join other advanced democracies and implement automatic voter registration. It will make the voting system more accurate and more secure, plus it could give nearly 50 million eligible Americans a chance to decide how their country is run.

This gets under my skin. If you're a citizen. Then you should be allowed to vote. They can't just deny you the right to vote cause you didn't so called register to vote. 🤦‍♂️

2:16 – why, if you register to vote, do you have to register with a party? You register to vote, nothing more. What is the point? Someone can register as a democrat and vote independent.

It seems pretty clear that most US states make it hard to get registered on purpose. A country that can keep track of things they require of their citizens, like tax payments, drivers licenses, etc. should generally have no problem keeping an automated voter roll, and this is something most democratic countries do.

Can you do a video on why the USA needs this "voter registration"? If I remember correctly it's because the USA does not have a national register of citizens? In most EU countries the government has a registry of all citizens so there is no need to "register" to vote. They already know you are a citizen, where you live and that you are above 18 and therefore you just go, show your ID and vote….

The real solution would be a mandatory ID. If every citizen needs an ID, you can also just have everyone automatically registered. Also, you guys don't need to use your social security number for personal identification anymore, a number completely unfit for that purpose.

So question for people…if you support AVR then do you also support auto mail in ballots? There are 7 states that have auto registration and automatically send mail in ballots to all registered voters whether they ask for it or not. I'm not talking about a particular election being stolen, more want opinions on how you would catch fraud of family filling out ballots for their kids and grandparents or whoever that don't bother voting?

Basic logic would tell you that it would be undetectable so I'd like to hear why you would support having both. You should always need to request a mail in ballot if you want to vote by mail as it is the responsible thing to do to ensure fair elections. Otherwise both parties can abuse this.

But. . . Why do Americans register with a party?
What is the benefit of committing early?
Why would you not just register to vote, then vote for your party on election day?

That’s so DemonRATS can get their ILLEGAL buddies (who they give drivers licenses to) automatically registered to vote, which is also why DemonRATS OPPOSE a citizenship question on the Census.

So people in Oregon have to prove citizenship before obtaining a drivers license? If not, how do they establish citizenship of people obtaining drivers licenses in order to also add them to the voter roll?

I wen't to vote they said I already did,Then I complained and I lost my voter status 3 days later to not registered. And I have a friend same thing happened he too called the Governor and complained now he last his status. There is obviously fraud going on.

I think there are problems with the current process. Obviously. If they can track everything from guns to automobiles, why can't they automatically check your status and whether you have voted before? Too many dead people voting. Too many duplicate ballots by the same person.

Republicans don’t want this. Why would they want the people to decide? It’s how they stay in power. Just imagine if they actually care about fair elections. Pffff

You have to register to vote in America because if everyone was automatically registered then that would make it easier for black people to vote. It’s that simple
