OK, who else grew up yelling “I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU!” at every sibling within a five-foot radius? If this unlocked a few snow-day memories, you’re definitely our people. Which fact caught you totally off guard?
Be sure to subscribe, and share this with the friend who still treats the leg lamp like a treasured family relic.

A Christmas tragedy.
My Dad bought both of us boys a red rider bb gun. Christmas day he took us to shoot in his brand new car. He told us specifically do not load our guns until we got to the RR tracks. I was so excited I couldn't wait. As soon as I got into the back seat, he shut the door and it Jared my gun it fired and I shot out the windshield of his brand new car. The biggest OMG moment of my childhood. He took our guns away
And sent us to our room. The doom that went through my mind is as vivid as it were yesterday.
20 minutes went by, and the door opened, and he said, "That's why I told you not to load the gun. He never mentioned it again that day and took us to shoot and gave us a long lecture on gun safety. They both have been gone for many years now . Every time I see this movie, it takes me back to that Christmas so many years ago.

When I was in grade school, I saw this movie in theaters the day it was released and I thought it was just okay
A few years later, it was on HBO and somehow it had went from being “just okay” to being amazing.

The Chinese restaurant scene wasn't believable. Chinese don't have trouble with the letter L; Japanese do. The scene wasn't funny to me. It portrayed the Chinese as odd and out of place. The film was perfect until this last scene.

That was awesome thanks! And no, I never tongued a frozen light post, thought about what might happen though, oh, but I have kissed a few women that might qualify as frozen light posts, does that count?

I actually tested the stuck tongue theory. Didn't stick. Maybe wasn't cold enough outside. 😄

Gene Shepherd, the writer, is in the movie. He’s the guy in the Santa Claus scene that tells Ralph that “the line ends here, it begins there”.

We watch this every year on blue ray with a 4K high def disc on reserve. Yes, my 4 year older sister challenged me in the early 60's to see if a tongue would stick to cold metal on a window sill in our grandmother's house. It does. 😆 🤣.
No BB gun but Santa gave me a pellet rifle when I was 12. 😊

The wind always blew the tab on my coat's zipper up into my face and if I stuck my tongue out for any reason, it would stick to it. Of course, after the first time it ever happened you had to tempt fate so it ended up happening many times.

The 80's had the best movies ever!!!! You can't even try to compare to another decade. I'm happy I got to experience it all and we were lucky to have HBO. I remember watching this movie every time it was on HBO.

I was a student at Cleveland State University when they shot those scenes in downtown Cleveland. I remember all the old cars and the props setup on Public Square and hearing that a movie was being shot. I didn't think much about it at the time except that the old cars were really cool.

🤡: we think it's bad so everyone else probably will. It's not my favorite (my dad keeps trying to say we watch it every year but me and my brother don't remember it ever) but I have to admit that is pretty stupid.

Funny how it took up so much of the budget they would just toss it.
