Sad that the government axed this show and a private company had to swoop in to save it. It’s dumb they forced them to run it as a public service that can’t advertise or merchandise, then blamed them for being unprofitable.
Who cares about the public’s good? Subsidies are for funding your buddies and generating more tax income for more subsidies!

This might be the first show I can recall watching on TV, presumably on the Disney Channel back in the early 90s. I remember it fondly and it's nice to have confirmation that it wasn't just the nostalgia; it really was a lovely show. Thanks, Kevin.

It's so weird, I remember this show, the name, the characters, and their names, but I don't remember it. I can't describe it.

The puppets on Hi Diddle Day look like they'd give you nightmares as a child.

As a Canadian kid I loved this show. The sit-com idea was genius, it felt much more laid back and entertaining to watch, compared to some other shows where the lessons were more ham-fisted and obvious.

we even have a video tape of a recording of when Disney aired sword in the stone movie but my mom forgot to stop recording so it got the story of the polar bear who got lost when it wandered away from it's mother and it even got 2 episodes of under the umbrella tree one half first ep part was of when the group had gotten a invitation letter for a museum nature show party….but they found out that they had put No Animals allowed and then the second ep half was of a pretend boat race even mrs Mc Mertree appeared in that episode for returning a book she borrowed But i just can't remember what the names of those eps were and it's so much so that it's bugging me badly

Thank you, Kevin. When Under The Umbrella Tree was on TV, I wasn't born yet. So I never heard of it until I saw your video about it. It got me interested and I decided to give it a try.
And I LOVE IT!

Ok terrible place to put this on past video, but if I don't, I will forget completely. But I'd like to see a deep dive on PB&J Otter! Also I know the phrase "under the umbrella tree", but I'm pretty sure this is before my time, as I don't recognize anybody.

I have been trying to figure out what this show was for so long! I have vivid memories of watching this as a kid in the late 80s when I got home from school. And I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the show was or what it was called. I'm pretty sure there was an episode where Iggy or Jay lost something, and asked Holly to help them find it. She took some type of items (can't remember what it was) and threw them all over the place. Iggy/Jay was shocked that she did that, and Holly said to pick up all the things she just threw, and it helped them to find what they were looking for. No idea why that memory sticks out in my brain. And if I'm thinking of the wrong show, please steer me in the right direction! I'm so glad I found this video so I could relive those memories. Because even if this isn't the show I've been trying to find for so long, I definitely watched it a lot when I was younger!
