Skip that football game when yoi were 13. You were making the finals anyway and you will save yourself 6 months in hospital, 12 months rehab and a lifetime of consistent pain

To my younger self. You are a good person and people do know that. You don't have to please people constantly and, don't waste time on people who constantly need to be 'pleased'

Advice to my past self: stop trying to be someone you're not and get some self-respect. You're a nerd and you'll never be cool until the day nerdiness becomes cool – which will happen in your lifetime, so look forward to that.

Advice to my 16yr old self: Read books on feminism, they will help you love yourself more and form better relationships with others. You're about to go through one of the worst periods of your life filled with self-hatred and painful, misguided efforts to feel better about yourself, but I'm not going to tell you how to avoid it, because you come out so much stronger and wiser on the other end. You are capable of so much more than you think you are.

Get help. Oh, my love, get help. When your dad kicks your out of the car in that strange neighborhood, go in to the block-parent's and have them call your mom. You'll have PTSD and depression by the time this is done. You're not going to be able to recognize it, you're going to wonder if you have it, but write it off because you didn't have a sudden lack of interest, or change of appetite, etc. There have been no changes because you have ALWAYS been depressed. Stay away from your bio-dad and his wife. I know you want to forgive them for all the wrong they did, but they're going to abuse your anxiety triggers, and you will be awfully sick for YEARS as a result. Finally, cut your step-dad, later to be your step-mom, some slack. She's suffering, but when you get sick, when everyone else abandons you because they can't be bothered, or think you're faking it for attention, she will never turn her back on you. She will drive you to the emergency room in the middle of the night, and hold your hand while you cry, the pain is so bad. She will be the parent you deserve, and you're going to try your darnedest to be the daughter she deserves.
Sorry that got a little heavy.

Advice to myself: Friends will come and go, embrace the ones who are there for you
@Smore012

1) (to 10 year old me) Don't quit baseball so soon. I know it may seem like a boring sport at such a young age, but trust me. You'll actually end up enjoying it and every other sport, and it's one of the safest ones out there that you can easily improve on
2) (To 13 year old me) I know your basketball goal sucks and it messes up your shot, but please for the love of God practice more on your own.
3) (to 18 year old me) Don't let your friends talk you out of dating certain people. If you're both attracted to each other, and no one is forcing you to do anything you don't want to, it's good practice. Trust me, you'll regret not taking that step just because you think you're friends know what's best for you. At the end of the day they really don't.
4) Don't sell your ps2 or gamecube. I know you want to buy the newer consoles but what's an extra $50 really? Just wait a bit longer to buy your stuff. You'll miss a lot of the stuff you're planning on selling.
5) (To 20 year old me) Don't date you're roommate's ex. DON'T DO IT. It's a terrible idea.

If I could go back, I'd tell myself to stop being afraid of math, and to stop being embarrassed about my struggles with it. Â I can learn math, it just took a lot of experimenting to find the right method for me.

Oh so many things. Im just gonna say it all here because I need to get it all off and dont feel like I have somewhere to put it. I'm sorry for the long post.
1) Ok so 14 year old self: in September 2008 you will meet a girl and fall for her intensely to the point that 7 years on the feelings still haven't faded. sounds romantic? Have fun with 7 years of reciprocated love.
2) Your mum will have recently or will soon be breaking up with her boyfriend for a year. They will get together again but you will be pressured to move in with him. This will put you in a heavily isolated area where you have to be driven everywhere and thus you will lose contact with many friends. Your mum will be unhappy there, he will spend all his time down the pub and she will have little to do and he will be quite controlling. stop her going back to him or, if they still get back together, make sure she doesn't move in with him.
Also, take up a martial art. You will freaking love it and it will make your life so much better in the coming years.
16 year old self: Well done on your GCSEs but this is where you will truly fuck up your life. not through crimes or anything but from drastically altering your state of being.
1) In October 2010 you will have a girl advance upon you whom you start a relationship with. This relationship is born from sexuality and with you being asexual and wanting to make her happy you will start to radically alter your sexual identity to mimic and behave as that of a straight person, it ends pretty much how you expect it to in a rational mindset, that is to say less self-control. The relationship, while technically happy with shared interests and little arguing, will still not be completely happy for you as the same feelings weren't there that were for the first girl, and this among other factors will leave you with mind-crushing doubts. As much as I hate to say it but dont go that route.
Side-note: both of these people are still very close friends of yours. In 2012 tell their mums to get checked. they will both be lost to cancer in two years time if not caught early.
2) At this stage in your life you are becoming highly political and developing your own ideas of politics and economics, and have been told A-Level is much more open to personal ideas and opinions than GCSEs are. This is a lie. This idea of intellectual freedom cannot exist in academia, and is a carrot on a stick to rope you in, the next stage promising to be more free than the last. Stick to the curriculum, dont go writing your own ideas in essays no matter how good they are. You will fail and not go into the university of your own choice.
2a) when you complete your A-Levels you were paranoid of having such little time in your life to complete so much, and feel that you must get into uni now else you wont have enough time in the future. You have a long long life, and rushing is not going to get you anywhere save for a crap university if you haven't taken on board 2. If you fail and cant get into a high-level university, then just dont go to university, repeat your A-levels, get a job, study a language, anything, just dont waste your time and money.
2b) Don't go to Brighton. if you dont follow 3 you will likely be in a state of hypo-mania, and will come across to people as extremely bizarre, but more than that you will be in a community of people that you share no common interests with, and that strongly obsess with radical feminism. While being in a group you will not feel wanted or belonging, and thus feel lonely and isolated. This along with the prementioned mania, self doubts, and regret, will eventually plunge you into a psychotic depression where you constantly feel like you are living in a nightmare, paranoid and borderline schizophrenic, with the only way out destroying all the superficial aspects of your personally developed since 2012.
2c) If you do go to university, make sure you do a course involving economics. You will sorely miss is and more importantly there will be jobs at the end of it for you. Nobody wants a humanities/fine arts degree, there are many more doors which economics gives while still maintaining flexibility of thought.
2d) Get yourself screened for dyslexia, it will help deeply. Maybe aspergers/autism, but this is much less important.
3) In late 2011 you will get into a music artist named Renard. You will enjoy his music but this will also radically alter your mindset into a state of mania, you will have boundless energy but also much less self control, and it will ultimately drop you into severe mental illness for a year. It will also skew your music tastes from things listenable by others into something fucking crazy which barely resembles music that you will be obsessed with until your shatter your own mind to rebuild it. DO NOT START LISTENING TO THIS ARTIST!
4) Spend more time with your dog. You will miss her.

I would tell my 10 year old self that I am not responsible for my parent's feelings and to make sure my parents know that. My parent's divorce fucked me up from ages 12-18 and if someone told me to tell my parents to deal with their shit on their own and not unload adult problems onto their kids, life would have been way better.

Don't worry so much about your family, they and you will mellow out and have a good relationship. Be nicer to your mom.
All of your crushes are super gay in high school, don't chase them, they aren't into you. (Or any other girl)
Don't hate your belly and don't fad diet, you'll find out the myriad of medical conditions that cause it later. Just be grateful to not hurt all the time. It doesn't last.
Save your N64, future self loves it.
And don't pursue theatre tech, it kills your love of sewing.

The pain you feel when your with your "friends" is real and valid. Its not your job to sacrifice your feelings for them.

To middle school self: Just ask that guy out, you might get rejected, but you'll learn to stop putting your crushes on pedestals.
To high school self: You may think you are drama adjacent and nobody notices you, but that's naive. Some people are not your real friends so it's better to stop giving a fuck about them now and chill more with you band friends.
To undergrad self: This is going to be hard for you, but you are going to make it through. It seems endless now, but didn't high school feel that way? You are stronger than you think you are.

I would tell my younger self whatever I remembered being told by my older self at that age, so as to not mess with time.
It would probably be: "Trust your own judgment. Literally no one else has your best interest at heart all the time, and even your mom can be wrong about what that actually is. (Now, memorize what I said so you can repeat it to yourself when the time comes to go back in time and do so.)"
