Fifty Million Years Ago, the Arctic Was a Warm Swamp I NOVA I PBS
Think you know what the Arctic was like during the Eocene Epoch? Imagine standing in water up to your knees and being surrounded by towering dawn redwood trees. The climate was warm and humid. And in winter, the period of daylight shortened so that it was dark nearly all the time—just as it does today—but the temperature never got really cold.

Yes the global mean temperature was 14 degrees warmer that it is now. But yet the whole Earth was a flourishing environment filled with life. Kinda blows the doors off the "global warming will turn the entire Earth into the Sahara" alarmist narrative!

How do they figure the polar regions were actually green, were they still at current latitudes at the time or in a diff location due to plate tectonics, or axial tilt??

Hey, so the earth was warm all over the globe…, (hmmmmm) with no humans anywhere on the planet! Wow; so the earth goes through "CLIMATE CHANGE" with out humans? Not to mention there was more "CARBON" everywhere (carbon dioxide gas) with no human intervention at all. Not only that the Earth has gone from warm to Ice Age several times in Earths history with no human intervention/interference because nobody was there. Their is a cave in the far north that proved that 400,000years ago the earth was warmer, much warmer than it is today, I know I watched it on YouTube yesterday. All of you climate change people are just plain wrong. Just because it gets warmer or colder has nothing to do with us puny humans.
