Thank you for talking about this! I'm having to deal with toxic relationships in school right now, and enjoyed hearing your view on it.

Could you make a video about infidelity? What do you think about it as a man

Thanks for posting this video, man. This has been in the back of my mind lately… but just hearing you forming it into words and sound reasoning, makes it much easier for me to apply in real life! Thanks again!

I got out of a toxic friendship recently and even though it is hard I feel much happier now because I'm not around that constant negativity

I agree with what you say, but what i found hard is how todeal with that when those persons are relatives. I already moved away from my mom and dad withing my country. But you are still somehow bound to those people. Amd the relationshjp with my mom takes away soooo much energy from me, most of the time i end up sick (really physical sick) after a week at home.

My definition of a toxic relationship is a bit different than yours. My definition of a toxic relationship is a relationship that severely harms one or more parties in the relationship, physically, emotionally, doesn't matter.

This is VERY true and reminded me of a quote I just read:
"You don't ever have to feel guilty about removing toxic people from your life. It doesn't matter whether someone is a relative, romantic interest, employer, childhood friend, or a new acquaintance — you don't have to make room for people who cause you pain or make you feel small. It's one thing if a person owns up to their behavior and makes an effort to change. But if a person disregards your feelings, ignores your boundaries, and "continues" to treat you in a harmful way, they need to go."

Compared to your usual videos this one was pretty disappointing. Short and kind of useless, imho could've been resumed to a tweet saying "Analyse your relationships and if they're toxic, end them.'
I like your videos because they're usually 2nd thoughts that makes you have 3rd thoughts about things, this one was juste 1st thoughts to me :p

While I agree it is important that your relationships are not dysfunctional, I've recently come across people with an attitude that they should burn bridges rather than putting effort into any friendship/relationship. I believe this insanity is fuelled by online "tinder culture" as well as a massive cultural overdose of self-help media, constantly telling people they are above criticism and don't need external validation.
Sure, don't be anyones bitch, but think real hard before telling anyone to go fuck themselves. You may very well regret it.

Thank you so much for this. My long term boyfriend and I broke up yesterday, mostly because we feel like we're on different pages. Hearing this has made things a little easier to bear.

I've always had trouble starting and keeping relationships with friends that last more than a couple of months. Its hard for me to have things in common with most people, especially other women for some reason. I figure friendships should be natural and self sustaining for the most part, and if we have differences in lifestyle, if the friendship is STRONG enough it will endure with the differences

I was actually thinking about this topic minutes before coming across your video, it's actually crazy how badly toxic relationships can affect you especially if you don't possess the strong character to challenge the actions/attitudes of those around you. Personally it took me years to realise how these relationships had affected me and how they had in a way discouraged me in everyday life. At the same time having had that experience and learning from it has made me a hell of a lot wiser as to the types of people I should associate myself with. Great video as always T1J x

"You must constantly ask yourself these questions: Who am I around? What are they doing to me? What have they got me reading? What have they got me saying? Where do they have me going? What do they have me thinking? And most important, what do they have me becoming? Then ask yourself the big question: Is that okay?" — Jim Rohn
