I like this channel's content but the scripted, adhered-to reading gives it a smug, in-authentic feeling and undermines the value of the assholes being talked about. I wish it felt more spontaneous and authentic. Instead it feels like a sit-com or scripted parody.

At 20:37 the reason Anita Bryant hated gay men is because her husband was a closeted gay man. He came out during their marriage and divorced her. I think Anita Bryant knew this this before she married him and had the attitude of I can change him. LOL. I know he's gay mother but I can change him

If God was judging us on 9/11, why didn't he just turn the World Trade Center into pillars of salt like in the old days? Instead he took a dive to a rival religion.

The more I read and hear about the United States of America and how it’s set up to benefit and protect those with money, and to totally take advantage of the people without.

The entire country is such a scam.

I love you ladies. As soon as I started watching I thought of the Hustler ad joke, which at that point in life I wasn't looking at Hustler for the articles, but I remember seeing that ad in the magazine found in the pile in the woods. 😂❤

Preying, rather than praying, on the poor and ill-educated with an eye for using the media. Not a skerrick of Christianity about the man, a charlatan of the first order !!!!!!

The true story of the 2 teenagers who were killed on or around railroad tracks in Arkansas is very intriguing. I don't think the Clintons were involved but yeah it was fishy as fuck

I was glad when he Fellwell. A horrible person that thought blinking would make you respect him…or hypnotize you…whatever, he was part of COR which was Coalition on Revival which was a plan to turn the nation into a theocracy.

I am a Christian who was not familiar with television evangelists, when l first saw Jerry Falwell. These people definately don't represent Jesus Christ. My fondest memory of him, was watching him speak on Christian television. A rat crawled up on the fabric background. His son got caught in a sexual scandal. Minions.

Growing up in Germany in the early 80´s, my first encounter with J. Falwell was, being a punk (still am), listening to bands like Dead Kennedys, Youth Brigade, Sloppy Seconds and their harsh and well deserved critique on this breed of televangelists….we hadn´t things like this and couldn´t hardly believe it but it was true we found out by contacting american friends.
We/You need to bring back bands like them for the nowadays challenge.

As much as I enjoy the Sh*tty Past episodes, I have an idea for a new series. I don't know what you'd title it, but it would be highlighting amazing people, ones that aren't known to everyone. I got the idea when Erin was talking about Miss Rachel. I'm not around little kids, so did a search on her. Good for her. I'd also be interested in finding out more about the two founders of Project Resource Optimization. You have such a good research team and I would love to hear about people that are bravely forging/following an inspirational path. Thanks for considering it!
