BINIC SIX had a hard-to-miss pedigree of people behind and a few companies determined to make a splash in the US market but BIONIC SIX also hit the air and toy shelves in 1987 amidst a flood of other toys and shows.
It barely stood a chance.

Was a huge fan of this show as a kid. Imagined my own family like these superheroes. Also four kids. (They were far less flashy, but all pretty super hero like)

I remember watching Bionic Six during its original run as a kid and loved it. It's interesting that the show didn't do well ratings wise as me and my school homies were big fans. I don't think I ever realized just how much was really out there on TV in 87' (but it makes sense). What a great time to be a kid. Miss those days for sure.

I remember this show very fondly and its catchy theme song. I also recall seeing the toys in the stores and thought they were cool, but never got my hands on them.

Possibly the most difficult '80s cartoon to find info on. Also one of the best, period. Crying shame it didn't carry on.

Loved that cartoon. Not for nothing, but that was the best era for cartoons, and yes I did ask my parents to get every toy from every cartoon during that era…..lol

I felt that the naming of each of the bionic six what's similar to how each of the original power rangers were given their colors

The best part was that the figures were made out of metal, making them durable.

By 1987, I was already 15 years old. Too old to be watching cartoons, but after being hooked on G-Force and Mazenger Z, and later Robotech, Bionic 6 had a huge appeal. The show did come out a a bad time and in my opinion too smart for the intended viewer. I would kill for a live action movie based on the show, if done properly, it could rival other current year franchises.

wow….somehow I remember the theme song but have no memory of watching the show. I was a huge fan of 'The Bionic Woman" and "The Six Million Dollar Man" when I was watching the reruns in the 80's. Had NO IDEA this cartoon was actually connected to those earlier series. Mind Blown.

That ending where all the buddies they met through the season team up to save the captured family in a new Bionic Six team was mindblowing to me. Where all the throw away adventures of the week actually led to something but wasn't because it was an endless serial story and instead cause the characters were living in a world and their good deeds had paid off.
