origami is a lot of fun and you should definitely do more of it. but look for tutorials on youtube, the best ones state the original creator of the design. just seeing what is possible and how some things are done once on video will make you understand the instructions way better.

Okay sweetie, origami expert here. The pictures are two dimensional. Origami is three dimensional. The instructions assume you know how to translate 2D into 3D in your mind. When the arrow wraps around in a certain direction, they want you to fold in that direction. If the arrow disappears inside the drawing, it means to tuck the paper inside. When the arrow zigzags it means to fold back and forth like a fan.
