During this time there was a use of old photos and films with edits like used in the Hersey's commercial. I loved that treatment. It was fun and playful. I think they kinda did the same with the Whatchamacallit commercials too.

    โ™ช Crossland Savings: F that guy! โ™ช
Duncan Hines: Who lights the candles before you enter the house? Moist, delicious yellow cake…and perms!
Many of those laid off Eastern Airlines flight attendants had excellent hair…sucks they got laid off in a CROSS cutting move…religious groups didn't like that I bet!

Tele Hell- KGB commercial is definitely more form generation X that the 1980โ€™s commercials that is showing right now. The generation X commercials from the 1980โ€™s is more for older generation Xers who was born in between 1965-1966

I love how that BMW ad mentions having outperformed the Energy Crisis and Economic Crisis, caused an automotive identity crisis…but doesn't refer to the fact that it was the US market that almost killed BMW in the first place.

Of course, I'm referring to the 507, which was intended mainly for the US market, meant to revitalize their image as a performance brand, and compete with the Mercedes-Benz 300SL.

Instead, it was more costly to produce than expected, and nearly drove the company to bankruptcy. Every 507 built, BMW lost money on.

It's also crazy to think of how many brands and companies were introduced by major retail companies, and have either outlived them, or are simply thriving, while their creators struggle. The Discover card is one exapmple, one of the biggest credit card companies in the world…created by Sears, which is on the verge of possibly dissappearing completely.

Also, gotta love seeing a public service announcement in one of these videos. Ever think of doing a decade-specific compilation of PSAs, Dave? A video of ones from the 80s could be quite interesting to watch, especially if you come across uncommon ones.

2:352:42 Yeah, I think that date would be over, and she'd be telling that dude to take his broke ass home.
They really went in on that "Grape Nuts in nature" thing in the 80s, huh?
6:077:05 Jesus, I could feel the cringe coming in waves before a single word was spoken.
9:53 Could they not find a better picture to honor the woman? Come on People.
I'll give the 80s one thing, they truly went hard on the jingles.
