    As much as I love this song, and Jesse, the lyrics on this one are so divisive and frankly wrong. Boomers didn't wreck it all, they are certainly not racist, or too conservative in their tastes. Just like today we don't live, nor have lived in a democracy and no matter how many times, and with how much fervor, you put that ballot in the box, you're not going to change anything.

    I'm not sure if everyone is picking up on this, but this tune is very reminiscent of southern evangelical revival music, including the speaking part in the middle.

    Jesse is a mutant creation of the spliced DNA of Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, John Fogerty, John Prine, Arlo Guthrie, Pete Seeger, John Denver and even John Mellencamp among so many others. He's this crazy amalgamation of 20th century folk and rock reborn for the 21st century.

    Sounds like he's racially brainwashed by everyone saying God is a white power Play he's not at all Jesus is color of every race in paintings for culture influences in the old days to get the message out

    I can’t tell how overwhelmed with emotions I get, being a 66 year old women who’ve stopped hoping for a new musical hero like Dylan and all the other musical activists from those decades. And… he might be even bigger! Heart is overflowing with love!❤️ ❤❤❤❤
