When Mr Tastee looks at the picture of him and the kids and as he pulls away you hear them screaming in the back and as he pulls away he places the picture on dashboard and its covered in pictures of him and kids.

Beautiful show, and your essay very much does it justice. It also aired here in Finland when I was a kid, and having recently re-watched the first two seasons I was amazed to find how it really is as good as I remember, or maybe even better now that I have wider scope to experience it with.

One aspect that is especially dear to me that I picked up on in the Mr Tastee episode is how relentlessly idealistic everyone is. When there is a problem, such as Mr. Tastee disappearing, they undertake these huge projects to solve it, even if it would seem – to a resigned adult at least – an impossible or useless thing to do. They all just come together and do it anyway, always helping each other. It was good for me to get that kind of inspiration as a kid, and I still need it now, maybe more than ever. I need to be reminded that it's always worth it to try even whent he task seems insurmountable.

I really love your videos by the way. I don't remember if I've commented before and I haven't seen even half of them yet because focusing on videos is harder than reading for me, but it's great now that when I do have enough attention span available, your channel is there full of thoughtful, interesting essays on topics close to my heart.

This show was so fucking profound. I remember it fondly from my youth. I went back and watched it as an adult and was actually more blown away by how profound it actually was. The writing was insanely complex and not just "kids shit". Accompanied with the videography. Idk what it was but I can't think of many shows quite like Pete & Pete. It had a whole vibe. I felt like this show was way more profound as an adult than it ever was to me as a kid.

This show was truly before it's time. One of those "Should've never been cancelled' gems like Arrested Development, but that's also what makes them both so fucking great (Save for the shitty Netflix remakes)

I cannot stress enough how fucking incredible that Polaris album is. if you watched this show, it may actually bring tears to your eyes listening to it; the way it did for me.

Watching these as a kid it felt like I'd discovered the coolest most "for me" show. The music, the kooky-ness, the heart. What's not to love. And I can still watch them now as a 44yr old adult and still enjoy them. My favourite episodes that come to mind are the time travel episode and the Halloweenie episode.

Just because you can be profane doesn't mean that you ought to. It doesn't make it more intense or "cool". It makes a person understood as ignorant & lazy. I was a teenager in the late 90's, I was there. I swore too, but I grew up.

This was a great video, thanks.

I was also very surprised to learn that the name of the town, Wellsville, was from the Embarrassemt song. This show just keeps on getting better.

    Please, listen to Miracle Legion.

This is my favorite show from childhood, it oddly shaped a LOT of my humor and sensibilities to this day. For better or for worse lol.

Very happy we lived in the timeline with Pete and Pete. I didn’t realize Toby played Khan on King Of The Hill, wild. That dude had a hell of a cateer

I always felt i was a bit old for Pete and Pete. But oh my the music was just too good, I would always leave it on in the background. It was a weird revelation to find out the mom had a metal plate in her head, one of my earliest memories was my mom telling me she had survived a bad car accident and she had a plate in her head 😂 She was particularly proud of that and now that i look back on it, it was pretty metal. 😀 Man yea it was a great show and glad other people are enjoying it now.
