Crazy that I paid less for a brand new Arcade1up Countercade Pac-Man just a few years ago than this smaller, more inferior, version of the game. It is nice they included Super Pac-Man on this one.

I'm still waiting on the retro gamestation pro and also arcade stick. Since seeing your video last year showing it, it is my biggest want

I would not get this one primarily for screen size. I do have a Aracde 1Up Super Pac=Man machine on my wall that has these games except for pacman plus. That unit saves high scores. There is the side scroller Pac Man game as well. I did not appeal to me. Thanks Jon. Also been looking into a samtronic tabletop unit with a 14 inch screen as I recall that has all sorts of classic arcade games and such. Does anyone know of this one or even have one. I have been considering it but do not trust the reviews of it on facebook. I think they are planted ones and any negative ones are deleted. I am also interested in a good virtual pinball unit with real classic pinball games I can use as a table top unit.

Unfortunately feels like a rushed out cash grab. Not even getting the rubber feet right says to me that nobody actually play tested the finished product. Not storing the high scores is the death nail for me. It's a real pity because for me, it looks awesome. I think My Arcade need your QA expertise once again Jon. Keep up the awesome work!

If not arcade roms, then may as well get a generic dime a dozen nes/Genesis/snes mini arcade and play those versions.
Tired of these repackaged same old same old games.
Yes, include the og ckassic game roms, but any rerelease should have something unique added, ie multiplayer, online, plys new sequels that feel like Golden Age titles. Even simply added mazes/levels, added adversaries, varied adversary behaviors, etc
That would make new cab releases far more collectible.

Who do I blame for the Pac-Man ROMs- MyArcade or Namco? My biggest question is why is only this (and the speed-up hack) modified? Even if Namco required the new copyright on Pac-Man, why only that one and not the other three, and couldn't they have just modified the ROM and left the rest of the game alone rather than making a close but imperfect replica?
As for the cabinet, I definitely agree with the screen and rubber feet flaws. The control panel- I was going to say that it's a nothingburger as that layout is standard in arcade games with buttons, and the unit is too small to put buttons on both sides of the stick- the players hands would be too cramped. However… is there really a need for the B button? I don't think any of the games here used more than one button. Move the B button to the left of the stick with the stick centered, make it a second A button, and that would probably work as long as the buttons are to the edges of the control panel.

That smaller screen. And it has a black border on top of the huge art bezel!
It looks like there's at least another vertical inch that can be claimed from the art bezel (which given the aspect ratio would expand the horizontal a little bit).
I hope some mods are done to replace the screen with something better. The art bezel should have been inspired by the original glass bezels.
    Serious "oof".

It seems that My Arcade has dropped the ball on almost all of their new releases this year. its like the people in quality control were saying, ehh its it sorta works shove it out the door,. as it stands i dont see this cab being worth 170 dollar price for what it is, if it had a larger screen, better stability and a center mounted stick with buttons on both sides and real roms then maybe it would be ok.

Gen Z (2001 baby here), but my dad was born in 1980, so I grew up with a lot of love for that era in gaming including PAC Man. This anniversary release seems interesting to say the least

I mean, they have the real state, why using that tiny screen? That is my question. And agreed with the rest of the guys, modified Roms? Again? One of us really need to apply for a counselor's job at My Arcade…lol. I said we…the kids of the 70's-80s….

We all get that you want the original ROM with all of these devices. I think you can stop complaining about it now.
Don’t buy the thing- oh wait- you probably got it for free…

I don't know who it was at Namco who came up with that vomit inducing artwork, but that person needs to be fired. As for My Arcade, they need a wake-up call. They need to pull this thing off the market along with the Sonic mighty player and put a screen on it that's 4 1/2 times bigger than what is on it or it's not going to sell. Along with arcade ROMs, high score saving, and the rubber feet on the bottom. And My Arcade knows people in high places at Amazon because I wrote a negative review of that pile of trash Pole Position machine and the review was taken down and I was banned from writing another review for it. CENSORSHIP ANYONE?! IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING NEGATIVE TO SAY, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE ALLOWED TO SAY IT! The Sonic mighty player was going to be the item I was going to buy to give My Arcade a second chance, but I'm just plain done with them.

I wonder if its easy to hack this to put proper roms on or ad you own? I have the Pacman Museum Plus collection on Switch that has all these games or proper roms and more, total of 14 games for 25 bucks.

I'm still trying to figure out how George Costanza's high score on Frogger was saved for all those years at Mario's Pizza. You mean to tell me for ten to fifteen years give or take there was never a power outage, or the machine was never unplugged.

Are you aware of the company "Iconic Arcade"?

They're known for releasing home arcade cabinets similar to Arcade1Up, but it was brought to my attention recently that they've quietly put out a Pac-Man handheld of their own for the 45th Anniversary. It contains three games as opposed to My Arcade's four – Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man and Pac & Pal – but they're all original arcade ROMs, and that includes Pac-Man. Looking at one of the videos talking about Iconic Arcade's handheld, it even appears to save your high scores after powering off.

Apparently, Action (a discount store chain based out of Netherlands) sells it on their website for 13 euros, or just around 15 US dollars which is an insane bargain comparatively, though I'm unsure if this chain ships internationally. In fact, I haven't been able to find anything that suggests this is currently being sold outside the European market.

Given the state of affairs with My Arcade though, I figured this development still might be of interest to you.
