Gender roles and equality continue to be a hot topic of discussion. As women make progress in the workplace, gender pay gaps improve, educational opportunities are getting better as women break glass ceilings.

Every action has a reaction and now we’re starting to see unintended problems arise for men. There is a mating crisis stemming from the masculinity crisis that has men and women questioning what it means to be a man.

Chris Williamson is a podcaster, YouTuber, and former professional party boy. His podcast Modern Wisdom is the inside journey of him learning out loud from some of the most interesting people on the planet. He’s working on his first book about the mating crisis and joining Tom in this thought provoking conversation about masculinity that doesn’t diminish femininity.

With women outperforming men in education and earning more than men in 2023 while also being the gatekeepers of sex men are turning to porn and video games, while women struggle to find male partners that complement their success.

Chris is very clear that this important conversation is not about putting the breaks of women, but rather solving how to put the gas on men to become worthy partners that add value, protect and preserve his relationship and family.

    Hard truth Tom Bilyeu states: "Guys don't care how much money a girl makes" – Absolutely 100% NOT true. They do and they get emasculated when they find out that a woman makes more money than him. My husband struggles with that. And he is the most respectful most decent man I ever met. Easy for Tom Bilyeu to say this because he makes more money than most men. But I am sure that he cared about how his wife made more money than him when he didn't make much money in the early days of their marriage. The problem is most men don't know what to do with this feeling, when they are confronted with this. They don't get "driven" like Tom did. They get resentful/envious towards the woman for being more successful than him. Human condition, I am sure. Not my husband. He is now super grateful that he has a successful partner. He chose well. I did too. My instinct to go for a man who is decent paid off big time. Happily married 14 years. Also, in my dating years I encountered guys that want to use me to get ahead in their financial situation because they were ridden with student loans or wanted to use me for rent to pay for his mortgage etc.

    Being a mum is really important, but who pays you? No one. So yeah.
    Your job is less important and you get paid way more.
    Yet you judge success by economic status.
    Then say "why does no one rate mums?", after tying success to financial achievement.

    Your video is very contradictory. You say men arent getting sex, but women are giving it away too freely. Which is it?

    Also, unless you are mega rich, most men 100% care what or if their partners earn.

    It probably doesn't help that boys get called "gay" by their closest friends, family, and even girls/women, for having all kinds of personal interests and wanting to express themselves in any kind of pleasant or flamboyant way, even being called a "Dudley Do-Right" for not wanting to engage with porn or hookup culture, as if accessing as many women as possible is a healthy measure. I can't imagine being pushed to narrow myself down to such a tiny sliver of who I really am and live like a hollow coward just to get a little drop of social approval like men do. It breaks my heart.

    Dear God serious 😳 I'm 62 and I have most weeks with girls half my age. Not paid for before someone says something and it's quite pressuring as performance becomes an issue! So honestly it's not anywhere near important as it once was however if I had to do that daily it might become a real problem! Yes TRT has played a major role staying in shape and dated 100s of very attractive women so the looks side isnt going to throw me off course like a lot of guys. Sex with girls comes down to masculine confidence and don't give a shit if I do or don't transmitted subconsciously. Also motivate with feeling and emotional connection. It's not difficult just hard for a lot of guys to follow through. We live in a very strange world these days …relationships ain't what they use to be!

    is it just me?- about 50min in they start talking about what we need to do to change society to get men to be more motivated and successful (which I fully support- let's get men the support and motivation they need) and their answer is: let's go into a long discussion about women needing to have children and the warnings of women not having them young and that men really don't care about a woman's accomplishments. With nothing changing with men- having young women having babies more (going backwards) isn't going to solve the reasons on why a large portion of women stopped having them young. Not one suggestion of changing men's behaviors beyond the normal message they have always gotten. (be aggressive, go out and make things happen, improve yourself- which is timeless advice) "women should have more babies" is what this podcast should've been called.. lol

    This is the problem. No amount of men bettering themselves is going to fix things. It will just result in the same issue but reversed. Right now most women find most men unacceptable and they are right. However, once a man betters himself, most modern women then become unacceptable to a man with options and we are back to square 1.

    I agree that finding identity in masculinity through finding a balance is the key. Being masculine in ways that are traditional patriarchal and a brute and balancing that with being a human is very challenging for some men. Being told that boys don’t cry or having feelings is for sissies is like trying to encourage subhuman behavior to prove your manliness. Its pathetic and weak. Lacking compassion is more closely related to reptiles and sharks than it is as being a real man or human being. Jesus had feelings by the way. Men who are into the Manosphere are selling themselves short. Temporarily, it soothes their egos. In a way it’s vindicating to them. It’s basically aggressive behavior in retaliation for being rejected. The gorilla is thumping his chest and banging on the floor to get some love. Manosphere = Manly Retaliation. It’s self destructive in the long run. For young men it’s only a temporary relief. But after years of being considered subhuman (or Manospheric) by the rest of the population will be very damaging and destructive to their lives in the long run. They will either become rapists, mass murders, killers, homeless transients, drug addicts, or just commit suicide or live a miserable life of loneliness. All of these toxic mental health issues stem from men having poor social skills, a lacking of good roll models, being resentful of society or women in general, and having a false perception of what it is to be a man. Eventually, these men of the Manosphere ruin themselves in the end, all for 15 minutes of vindication in social media.

    Putting motherhood on a pedestal might be good for society and the population. But isn't there a reason why society now looks down on it? Women no longer want other women to go through what they've gone through maybe?

    I think both parents need to pitch in. There's an imbalance in society and in the home on the roles required of motherhood.

    Someone once said to me that if her husband were to be the one to be pregnant in physical form, theyd be pregnant already.

    Sex w/o catching feels is a defensive protection tequnique. If you dont feel you are much less likely to get hurt in every way, BECAUSE you can make locical decisions. This is a result of what girls have seen their mothers, sisters, friends go through. Or what they seen and experienced their fathers due. So it is effectively a justified trust issue.

    It's interesting that those who have historically "Conquered their mind" were single. Jesus, Buddha, Ghandi etc. Even St.Paul recommends optimally, that men and women remain single if they want to become enightened, and at peace.

    Damnnnn! crawling over broken glasses really made my eyes sweat indeed that's what who we are.. yoow my comrades. remember there is a great lion lies in with in every man's heart. the hunter instincts runs in your blood and it has always been NOW shake that mane and keep on fucking roaring. you're more than think who you are regardless what you do who you become where you come from… the world always demands our presence and every man has an important role to play. I'm still figuring it out mine but yoooww I belive that you would defineatly be better than I.

    Most ppl are depressed due to the society we live in and that is why they are not motivated to date and start families. Yes you can individually grind to maybe get successful but that bubble is getting smaller and smaller

    It really is 80% due to an affordability crisis. Only the irresponsible and the well-off are having (planning) children.

    Make things more reachable to millennials and Gen Z and you'll see us having 2.1 children. We don't want 14 kids, we would like at least one though. But not willing to raise them in poverty.

    Womens hypergamy and their divorce rights are the reason theres no point anymore. Women just cannot be trusted.
    Ill put in all this work but not for someone to take it away and for me to pay for it and not be appreciated.

    Cost of living and money problems is the number one reason all other problems can be solved if first one is no need to hyper-rationalize it's counter productive as you don't have enough data points to make accurate assessment.

    Unfortunately I don't think it's going to improve because women desperately want to believe that men are their enemy. No matter what happens, men get faulted even when justified or innocent. Feminism and hedonism really poisoned women against the good men that would make good husbands. Women will get used up by the players, playboys and party culture, then be so washed up that the good men will not want them. Women will be angry that they can't have their cake and eat it too while most guys always knew that most men could never have it all.

    Ultimately there are trade-offs in life. You can't live the party life constantly and probably retire a millionaire too. If you want the millions or the high caliber marriage, then you have to use self-discipline and restraint to delay gratification for something more lasting in the long-term.

    You should teach a guy who works for you how to run the company then start a new one then bring it to success and then you can call yourself a businessman. I wonder what sort of cartoon character you see in your head when you say businessman.
