    I have a theory… I think giving up her daughter is part of why she acts the way she does. for her tough exterior as a businesswoman…. This is one of the few times she bent down and gave into pressure. She may have had her close, but it meant that she had to give up raising her daughter. so she put on the mask of being a tough businesswoman and acting like she didn’t care if something hurt. The more she carried on with the façade the more she got carried away with it. And it became part of her. And as much her daughter might resent her for not telling the truth, she might’ve done it because she did not want to take away “her” mother and probably felt she had no right to do it.

    This reminds me of the comics I used to read in the mid 2000s. The graphic novels that were extremely personal and full of awkward emotions. Trauma on paperback.
