   The footage of the "real dead bodies" (mentioned at 7:18) doesn't seem unsuited to THIS flick. They could just be taken as victims of the monsters atomic breath (which is already well demonstrated in the original film). And it was a different later time (late 70s) and you probably did have to have some gore in a horror flick by THIS point. And Italian's were famously not apprehensive about depicting gore in movies.

   Luigi Cozzi is no more in the wrong than the journalists who took film of those burned bodies. Besides, Godzilla owes his very existence to a film producer taking inspiration from a real life nuclear incident, and by extension, Hiroshima. I just started watching the film on the Archive and I honestly think the pre-credits sequence works.

    Fuck Hollywood they ruin one my favorite foreign films in "Old Boy" by "Americanizing" it a decade later with Josh Brolin. I refuse to watch this "remake' from reviews that I have found it is not even worth it. I also tend to view the "Hunger Games" as "PG-13" "inferior" knock-off of "Battle Royale".

    It's interesting that this movie used WW2 fires and bodies considering Japan used fires after the bombs dropped on them to use on the set of Gojira (1954) as footage of real fires. Huh.
