    I would like to remind everyone that in project 2025, the goal for BLS is to have statistics every month about fertility:

    "Metrics like marriage and fertility rates, the share of children living with

    both biological parents, the cost of a standard basket of middle-class essentials,

    and the share of families whose highest-income worker earns more than twice the

    poverty threshold should be measured and reported monthly and in real-time and

    incorporated in releases for other labor statistics."

    they also want to consolidate all statistic gathering (education, employment, fertility, census) into one department. it will be much easier to manipulate the numbers that way!

    My issue with the whole "close to zero" possibility is that this has been said about so many other things regarding 47 and his regime. I no longer trust the idea of something "can't" or "likely won't" happen. That notion has been completely thrown out.

    I second the recommendation for Robert Reich's substack. I'm not even a paid supporter and he sends out so much useful information and it often gives me a glimmer of hope. Heather Cox Richardson here on youtube is good, too.

    I think the survey response issue has more to do with deregulation of the FCC (I think?) and the resulting increase in telemarketing and scams, and also increasing concern about data privacy. I don’t answer unknown numbers outside of work contexts anymore and I don’t know anyone who does, and I’d hesitate to give out any information, especially about my financial or economic situation, just because somebody asked.

    One way to pick statistics, and what'll likely happen, is reporting the total gross jobs increase (aka how many people got a job at a new company) while ignoring the job loss (aka terminations of employment/eradication of position). So, they may say _"there were 1.3 million jobs created last quarter due to the wisdom and benevolence of our dear leader – and lord & savior – President Trump." When in reality there was like a 1.38 million job loss alongside it (or an 80,000 total jobs disappearing).

    They don't need to hide the real numbers either, and they're too dumb to do so. They just need a pretty number they can have ChatGPT gaslight their base, and themselves, with. They know that nobody important to the regime's legitimacy will dare question the numbers. It's sick, and so is our country Battling a havocing, fascist Leukemia.

    To keep his job, the new head of BLS should just ask Trump how good next months job numbers should be and then graph that.
    I suspect that different raw numbers that were not totaled could be released and Trump would not care or be able to do the math.

    What's the point of making up numbers when it will be obvious to everyone they are not real? What's the point if Trumps says "I created 1 million jobs" when 1 million more are unemployed? It will be obvious. People without job will kind of know they don't have them and so will their friends and family. When walmart and dollar general have fewer customers who are buying less it's going to be painfully obvious

    Atrioc is far from perfect as far as creators go, but he's pretty useful for distilling economic concepts down to a beer pong sort of level, without sacrificing too much depth. A gold standard as far as economic communication, even if you're unwilling to let go of his past controversies or don't like his vibe

    I know I'll get some hate responses for this, but Peter Schiff is really good about covering the jobs data as well as the revisions. Even though he is a staunch republican and even advocated for voting for Trump all 3 times, he has held Trump's feet to the fire more than ANY republican I have seen. He has correctly predicted that Trumps handling of the economy will lead to Stagflation and has pointed out in almost every one of his podcasts over the last 6 months how Trump is doing the worst possible thing he can to fix the economy. For that reason, he is one of the very few republicans I listen to.

    A new poll was rolled out in DC. The question was, Is crime a serious problem in DC? 92% of CITIZENS checked, YES. Bluestates let criminals do whatever they want. If I were a criminal, I'd start robbing jewelry stores. Why not? I'll just tell the cops, if I were caught, I'm an illegal. The cops would let me go, then Karen Bass would hide and pay me. It's a win, win.
