As a global community, we must prioritize efforts to combat this growing crisis,I was very struck by the importance of the proper use of science, because although they show us how the undiscriminating use of antibiotics in animals for human consumption exposes us to multi-resistant bacteria, the video also shows us the constant struggle and search by science to be able to create new, more advanced antibiotics that defend us from these microorganisms and the diseases they can cause in us.

    What about non-conventional antibiotics? These are drugs from other classes that kill bacteria (such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, aspirin, omega 3 and 6, etc.). Ibuprofen, which has an anti-inflammatory effect, also has a greater antibiotic effect (for some bacteria) than ciprofloxacin. Before uploading a video, you should do a good bibliographical survey on the Web of Science.

    It has been eight years since this video and anti biotics are so overprescribed that there are constant shortages.

    Everytime my mom gets a sinus infection it’s bam, amoxicillin, followed by the doctor giving her amoxicillin. No culture swab test, nothing. Just “oh snot is green gimmie amoxicillin”. Now she gets a sinus infection 4+ times a year and has a chronic dry cough that never goes away.

    It has become so bad that she literally screamed at me for expressing my concern. Did the whole “I’ve been alive for (insert age here) so I know what I’m doing”. She doesn’t get it that she feels better after taking them because the viral infection is going away on its own regardless of the antibiotic.

    Love that my family has gotten to the point where even expressing concern / saying I wish they wouldn’t take them without a proper bacterial test immediately gets me screamed at about “I won’t take them but it’s on you if this infection goes to my brain and kills me”. It’s all so tiresome.

    You all should know that antibiotics here in the Philippines are given without prescription even on major drugstores, as long as you "know" someone that works at a pharmacy.

    Prescriptions are almost negligible here, drugstores also sell Rx drugs without prescription.
