A Car Dealer Shut Off Her Car While Driving. DOGE Will Let It Happen Again

More Perfect Union | November 10, 2025

A used car dealership put remote kill switches in the cars they sold. It shut off one car’s engine while the driver was on the highway, with her kids. The lawyer who prosecuted that crime at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was fired by Elon Musk and DOGE.

Folks, I would like to suggest, NEVER finance a car at the place you purchased it from. Go to a CREDIT UNION. This only happens because you financed at the place of purchase. It you finance with a bank, they maybe in cahoots with the dealership, so be careful about that.

lol. “DOGE” running the government — y’all really doubled down on that fiction huh? 😂
You have a great channel but it just destroys your credibility to slot in Musk as villain for stories that have nothing to do with his companies. Focus on the issues. There’s was so much more to the story of invasive automaker practices that need to be stopped — but y’all just focus on Musk and taking a stand against reducing bureaucracy? Laughable.

The interrupter devices include a tracking GPS to aid recovery agents in finding the car, I paid in full up front but because these devices are installed pre-sale they may still be in your car. They are usually installed at a wiring join, to remove it pull the plugs off both sides of the device and connect the two plugs together, you can now toss the device. I found mine under the dash on the drivers side.

I need to know if you're democrats? Also if you sue the financial company and win the lawyers get all the money. Not the victim. The victim gets their 5 cent check and a letter saying congratulations on winning.

I dont understand why America isn't happier and more satisfied … I mean, they got a sweeping victory in what they voted for, they got their leader (from HELL) they wanted … they should be celebrating all that winning they were promised 😊😅😂

While much of the information contained in this video is true, the claim that Victoria's car was shut off while she was driving is not substantiated. The document briefly shown, titled "Declaration of Victoria Bianca Carter" says only that her car would not start when she tried to head off to work. It does NOT say that she and her kids were driving down the highway when the device triggered her car to shut down. They were STARTER INTERRUPT immobilizers. They functioned merely by interrupting power to the engine's starter only. While the suit filed against USASF Servicing included many allegations, none of them were about the units shutting down cars that were being driven.

So the overall portrait this video paints of DOGE/Trump reducing the enforcement of consumer protection actions is valid and something definitely worth being concerned about, this video is an example of making crap up in order to make one's viewpoint look more compelling. If your stance is a good one (and this one is) you shouldn't need to embellish the truth to substantiate it.

GPS trackers and remote Kill switches are standard for almost all new and used cars. I bought a car with a purchase order from my credit union new, and it came with 2 GPS trackers and a remote switch. The second I disabled them I started getting calls from the dealership telling me it is in the contract even though my car is fully paid off. They will piggyback off of the OBD or the ECU depending on make and model.

ok! you guys are geniuses! … remove the asset protections for the lenders who were once willing to lend to these high risk credits, these b, c d credit derelicts (aka thieves who pay no one and who do not qualify for low rate asset free lending) and we can then return auto finance in to the hands of the banks exclusively willing to underwrite ace credits only, with great credit only!! Genius… let's completely bar entry for all but the cream of the crop rather than tell the thief "you messed up not paying for your car loan and you knew the arrangement before you signed the note"
    ….. perfect solution!
Scum need not apply and no high-risk lenders will want to take these risks…and you geniuses, who are not going to lend your own money to these bad credit derelicts, have single handedly cleaned up the lending market and returned it back to exclusively A+ credits where it belongs, instead of lenders having to deal with a bunch non-paying cry babies!!

Your reporting is biased. Your guest is extremely biased. If the consumer protection division was so valuable and indispensible then explain to me why we can't even have a modicum of privacy? Every aspect of our lives is for sale to data brokers and the dark web and her division has done nothing about it. She is wrong. Cuts in bloated beurocratic government is exactly what the people voted for. Also if people actually read the finace contract these predatory loan companies write they woukd see the claus that allows the finance company, as the principle note holder, to take control of vehicle operations and aspects if the loan payer falls behind on the contract payment plan. Read your contract! If you see this, go to a different dealer or finance with a different company. Stop playing the victim.

The corporate business idiots at DOGE fail to understand a basic fact about public employees. A public employees job is to produce the most benefit to the citizens for the least amount of money, while a private company or corporations job is to maximize profit for the least benefit. While many ways can be found to improve efficiency in the public sector, eliminating the employees who only cost 4.5% of our government spending is crazy.

Had my car cut out and go into neutral at 60 on the highway (did pull over safely). But not from a remote kill switch. It gave an 'IKEY' error which I understand to be related to the cars remote enable from the chip in the cars key fob. The loss of whatever signal it was looking for prompted the software in the car to lock the car in neutral. Could not shift into drive, turning the car off then on did not fix the issue. Found the only way to reset was unhook the battery for 2 minutes then reconnect to reset the error (in case you need to do this). Scary dangerous (I think) 'anti-theft' software in some cars.

Also, should point out the federal government created a law back in (I think) 2022 or 2023 mandating the inclusion of remote kill switches in all new cars. Only accessible by law enforcement (or anyone who figures how to hack the system and/or reproduce that shutdown code).

    It's not capitalism, it's CORPORATISM!
Corporations own the world and now thanks to the cough shot they even control your health and your life from inside of people's bodies.

I dont really like Musk. And dont care for Trump much. But critics seem to have this one way attitude that DOGE policy is 100% bad, and there are zero befinits from the program. It doesnt make any sense, you have to seperate the issues with it and the advancements from it, to be considered a legitimate journalist.

Thank the "Build Back Better" scam that was pushed by your representatives a few years ago while you all slept. That's right – the government granted itself unlimited warrant-less access to your car's new modern features, including kill switches and security cameras. In fact there was even talk about a mandatory "breathalizer" test before starting your car.
The reasoning? "For the children!!" Who can argue that?

Required skill switched were passed under Biden while everyone called it unconstitutional at the time, but its still law and will be required in all cars manufactured in or after 2026…
